  1. I think Dubpower do just about the best leads, just the standard red 7mm ones are better than factory - £35 I believe. £81 sounds like a rip!
  2. What's the pain code do you know? Mne is LC4T I think, it's on the boot lip. Swear it looks the same!
  3. Gotcha, I am probably changing plugs and leads in the New Year so good to know!
  4. Mine is about bang on 700rpm. 500 does sound a little on the low side...
  5. Why do you need a removal tool? Are they inacessible or something?
  6. Love it mate. I think it's the same colour as mine - "Twilight Violet" is it?
  7. Does this work better I wonder? www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/alternate_profiles/newuser.php?id=10403&page=images&album=root&pic=washed2.jpg
  8. Here's my tuppence worth... I've had a couple of low mileage cars and they can often present more trouble to be honest! I had a '90 twin cam Sierra with like 25k on and stripped the drive shafts when I raced away from the lights - the car had been sat for so long! My VR6 has only got 62k on it and it still has a couple of rust holes that need doing, and the brakes all needed doing (for the first time by the looks of it!) and the thing has lots of creaks and rattles! I bet there are higher milers out there that probably represent a better ownership proposition!
  9. RCF are you Supercharged or Turbocharged? Seems to me that the S'charged boys are getting better mpg but I might be wrong!
  10. Over a tank about 25-28mpg, about 250 out the tank - £45
  11. How much is a fair bit if you don't mind me asking? I could do with getting rid of this Laserline crap...
  12. Bugger I've broke it, can anyone fix the pic for me?
  13. Not sure if this will work because I am crap lol... Completely std VR6 on 62k, just getting some tlc atm...
  14. One make to avoid - Laserline. I inherited one and it goes off all the time. Dunno if it's the alarm or the install but it's a pain in the ass especially when it arms itself all the time which is a pain when filling up or if you have a passenger. It just seems to have a mind of it's own. Only reason I stick with it is cos the fob does my remote central locking! It is a full closure CAT1 as well... go with something like the Clifford or Toad maybe?
  15. Sweet merciful crap thats loud!!! Next up, roadtest vids!!!!
  16. One word - splumph!!! Awesome job mate, looks like your efforts are being rewarded and rightly so. Mint!
  17. What coilovers did you go for mate? Trying to figure if these are a better idea than a 'suspension kit'... Green wheels? Thats gonna look 'special' shall we say! The green theme reminds me of that VR6 in a recent issue of Performance VW with Carl Taylor's Salsa Green Golf! Looked pretty mint
  18. Thanks for the advice Ollie, seems like a good kit and if funds allow I may pursue this next year. If anyone else has any gearchange suggestions I would be glad to hear them. Cheers!
  19. Is it this one? http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=10913&xSec=136 I like the fact that it's an entirely new assembly, but not that it needs professional fitting! Could be looking at £300+
  20. This sounds awesome, tell me more... How much? Can you fit yourself? Hard job?
  21. Hi Amit, I think I'm after the same sort of information. I think the notchiness is probably worn selector rods, I think this is fairly common in these cars. I would be interested to know what bushes people recommend to replace and if there is a good quick shift kit available.
  22. Nice car mate, I actually really like the low stance on the standard 15" wheels (same as mine) are you going to stay with them or change for something bigger?
