Well its been quite a while since i have updated this mainly due to being made redundant soon so the plans for the car went on hold and its future with me was hanging in the balance, Decided to carry on regardless with my plans in time for Bristol volksfest and got the wheels polished, balanced and tired up, ready to go on and fit the samco kit from the Group buy along with a bonrath air intake to complement the other polished bits in the engine bay, Quite happy with how its looking at the moment Bristol volksfest 2011 Helston motorshow, June 19th

  5. As i said in my pm, i have had alot going on of recent (personal family/work probs) which i dont have to go into.. I said i would sort the postage out for you and i will, Im not like some of the people on these sites that surf around scamming people all day long which i am out of pocket to the sum of £130 thanks to these pricks.... I think its great how you can never get praised for helping people out on these sites or selling them something in a transaction but as soon as its sour without an explanation people have to be like this, Ihave been on here a while now and have bought/sold many
  6. So today i had a go over the car with a machine polisher, 6 hours in total was quite hard work but im quite happy with the results i got, Also got my front wiper motor fitted as the old one was on its way out..no more noisy wipers And as i finished the paintwork the postie had a parcel of audio cables which allowed me to fit my new headunit to my sub, amps, components, pic taken was just before i clipped it securely in its cage

  9. Well heres a pic of the calipers and redstuff pads im waiting to fit, Myself and a friend attempted to fit them at the weekend but found my brake hoses had corroded where they meet the brake pipes so couldnt unscrew the end to swap them over....so ordered some brake pipe and fitttings which arrived yesterday.. So job this week is fit the new front brake pipes, and then the brakes can finally go on Only small but got some new bolts for the steering wheel as it was missing a couple..god knows how And a new vw aerial base as my current one is falling to pieces..hope to get this on when i ha
  10. Thanks for the help, only thing im wary of is the polisher just has one speed setting, as long as i take my time, run over the area lightly and keep checking step by step and not letting it dry out i should be ok right? ideally i could do with someone local to show me on my car so i have a better idea for future reference lol
  11. Thanks for the replys, has anyone got any tips/ techniques when using the polisher?
  12. Hi all, Some of you may know or have seen my vr and the paint job is quite good for the year of the car (1992 J) but whats annoying me the most is the swirl marks so want to have a go at sorting this, I have recently acquired a orbital polisher so just need peoples advice on what product i need to purchase compound/pads/polish/sealant etc, in the past i use meguiars gold class/ autoglym srp / dodo juice purple haze but only used these by hand, Any help apprecated, cheers
  13. Would these be ok? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vw-Golf-Polo-Scrocco-Corrado-Brake-Pipe-Connectors-/220674915332?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item33613ffc04#ht_689wt_905
  14. Came to fit my front calipers and new hoses tonight and the brake pipe union is corroded and the nut is rounded off, so im wanting to replace the front pair of brake pipes at the same time as calipers/hoses so its easier to take the old pipes and hoses off, Where is the best place to get the brake pipes from as i need them pretty quick? Thanks
  15. Thats what i was thinking and it sounds like that area, I may just order a pair of new and see
  16. Snap.. i have this same prob, interested to see what it may be, I was thinking it was the top mounts that need replacing
  17. In the next couple of months im having some bodyshop work done and on my list is to replace the aerial base as mine is in the process of either nibbled by a cat or disintegrating, Is there any other options to replace it with? e.g a newer vw/audi etc Cheers
