  1. If you put a volt meter across the two battery termianls it should show 13.14v if its charging (when running). If not, its definately the alternator mate.

    VDO Gauges

    1. There is no oil pressure sender, there is 2 pressure switches, high and low. When you buy an oil pressure gauge it should come with the sender and possible a t piece. 2. Should be easy enough to fit, never fitted 1 myself! 3. Should come with intsructions, but basically splices into the wires that are on the lambda, live, earth, and the signal.
  3. Yeah they are 'pressed' in, old 1 should prise out, clean the hole thats left from rust etc, then gently (using a hammer and socket) tap the new plug in-but not too far, the same as the old 1.
  4. Yeah cheers, just needs to be something that can handle to heat, just seeing what ever1 else running turbos was running.
  5. Have you tried the starter off of the car?
  6. Have you tried without the aux belt on?
  7. Try it without plugs, just to eliminate that.
  8. im pritty sure they are right It sounds like your engine doesn't want to turn over, have you tried manually turning the crank, with a spanner on the pulley end?? I say this because it would create all the symptoms that your describing, click of the s/motor which can't turn the engine and draws too much current, reseting your clocks. Is the s/motor getting hot?
  9. I used a core plug, its the same size plug as the other core plug on the front of the block. Just remove the old plug with the tube on it, replace with the blank.
  10. You haven't got the 2 main power and earth wires the wrong way round?
  11. Can anyone recommend a grade/type of hose they are using for the oil return on a turbo. Mine keeps weeping from the ends, after endless tightening of the jubilees, and they're not over tightened yet. Its also gone quite hard, and i'd rather change this now, before it lets go and dumps all the oil and mullars my engine!! :-)
  12. Brake fluid and the clutch fluid are the same mate, they run off of the same reservoir. Think its probably dot 4, might be worth dot 5? A litre should do the lot.
  13. Congrats, and welcome back! :-)
  14. I think they are seperate units, try speaking to opie oils, i've bought gearbox oil for a r32 box (should be same) from them, i think the transfer box just uses gear oil.
  15. Yes, easy peasy! Just undo the bolts that bolt it on, prise the sump off, clean mating edges, apply sealant to sump and block, apply gasket to sump, bolts up. P.S Don't over tighten bolts, the sealant will seal it!
  16. You could do with jacking your car up and moving all the joints in the suspension, listening and feeling for any wear. On the other note, it could be a c.v, while its jacked up just put it in 1st gear and steer, if it clonks then its a c.v, if not could be a joint/bush etc.
  17. The trick is not to over tighten the sump bolts, and use sealant. :-) Worked for me!
  18. I think its a 10 mm triple square driver you need mate. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=3270&group_ID=378&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog
  19. I'm gunna get them on the day mate, they should be on the gate saturday for those who are camping that night.
  20. Buy a set of r32 goodridge lines, and use them for the conversion, at only 50/60 a pop its worth it! Oh and 200 is a good price to pay mate!

    quick Q

It depends where you buy it from and if its been made to fit the original flange. If your have it made buy a 3 bolt gasket for it to be matched to that, then it should fit.
