  1. Maiden, you must of been pleased to see those progress pics. and nice clean up jpb on the casing too.
  2. restrict to premium members. good for members and club.
  3. i bought 407`s vrt last year. i broke that box in weeks, put another standard one in and got another month til 3rd went again, then bought sparks box (see post in this thread) that he rebuilt, with treated internals and a new peloquin and it has lasted well, even with my lead foot and 23 psi whooshing through a .63 housed gt3076r. 440bhp and it still works fine,
  4. email c2 motorsports with your budget and they will tell you what you need. they remap your ecu so it runs with the turbo set up. they also can supply most if not all parts.
  5. cool, just keep an eye on it for now, also in the meantime watch the for sale ads and group buys on here, you might get the parts a wee bit cheaper ps , ELRING is the best head gasket i know of for the vr. i run 440hp and its good as gold.
  6. mate, i did it , you can too. it really is unbolt, change gasket ,bolt up again, there`s a few clips on the side too but all easy peasy.
  7. if the chain age is not known, then for saftey`s sake you have to say they are original factory fitted, if your mileage is near 100k,then i would def do them.
  8. quite cheap, and very easy to do, anyone can do a rocker gasket Steve. simple, undo bolts ,change gasket , do bolts back up. go on be brave
  9. how old are your chains ( mileage) as you could look at it that way and you can change the head gasket whilst doing chains, and that way it takes your mind off the problem and gives another 100k of trouble free motoring with the sound feeling of a strong new block/head joint and spot on timming from shiny new chains (ooohhh shiny and new ) point is think positive vr6`s are so worth it
  10. goes light full lock parking and tight turns but not when on road at any speed.
  11. the audi/bmw one is very good, i bet the beemer staff felt smug after that retort
  12. if the chains broke while running, then i think more damage will be done as the chains control the cams then valves ,so what was controlling the timing of the valves when the chain broke ? nothing !. i would think of a replacement lump, they go for £200 on ebay with chains all timed. just drop in . £600 is too much money.
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iK913GctK1A 2 x 10 second golfs mk 4 r36http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjgaxdl-z-g&feature=related if you havnt seen the mk4 r32 (twin turbo) racing the bmw z4, then here it is
  14. Roey, your car is begging for a sleeper role, keep it standard on the outside and spend your money on power, nothing like an unassuming golf just flying off from powerfull cars.
