i am currently rebuilding my bottom end and is wondering what sort of "ideal" wieght my standard rods, pistons and piston rings combined should b. any help would be appreciated.

thanks for your response guys. will do a bit of research from the list you have gave me. would not like to go down the route of a drive in drive out service. i have recently orderd a head spacer and t3/t4 turbo. this will be an ongoin project for me. will try and get a build thread up but not that good with computers. much happier with a spanner in my hand. ;-)

Hi there, At present I have a MK 3 VR6 Golf, The shell and the interior are mint, the engine however is not running, the big ends have went. I have aquired a VR6 engine to replace the current engine... the new engine runs air condition where as the current engine does not, I want to replace the engine but I dont want to run the air condition. I have had some problems that I have managed to overcome, however some still exist. Below the injector port in cylinder 3 + 4 there is a port leading to a valve and then down through a hose (I think this is linked to the air con - or possibly an AGR va

does anyeone know if any obd1 engines come with a coil pack or are all of them distributers? cheers for your help in advance.

i am about to purchase a lhd engine for my rhd vr. i will be swappin everything over from my original engine. will this go straight in or are there differences. any help will be appreciated.

cheers guys! do u think its worth takin the cams out to do? the car has been off the road for 3 years but this is the reason why the previous owner put it off the road! is sounds like a loose tapping but i goes away just over 1000rpm and comes back again? goin to give it a good service and see how it goes!! cheers

i have recently bought a vr6! when the engine is started i can hear wots like a tappin or knockin coming from the top left hand side of the engine- cyln 1! i have takin the rocker off and everything seems to be fine! the car has 58000 on the clock and is currently not on the road! any help would be appreciated!
