  1. i dont know if any firms make them but most i see at shows are home made. cut some cardboard to shape then go see a friendly ally shop on your local trading estate. best i can help bud
  2. first one was awsome, i hope i never meet anything like that on the road the last one was so so so funny, one for the scene queens for sure !
  3. i will be there from 2pm ish for the last few hours of rwyb, to try an sort out how to do the 1/4 with my new set up, bigger turbo and a 1.06 housing, so i hope to keep tyres from spinning so much and get me down the strip in the low 12 seconds. i have a new set of r888`s (super soft) and got a set of 15`s` to have sticky front end grip and maybe into the magic 12`s
  4. th lines 8" front and 9" rears . i have exactly that size and make on mine. i think there cool !
  5. has been done. nice one Ben. how many for camping sat night please. ???
  6. Ben, seems like a few for camping, could you poss have a word with the powers that be, and square this one up
  7. will do Paul. i need the practice. havnt driven my golf for over 2 months. i still dont have it back yet but hope it will be soon
  8. anyone going Saturday for rwyb ,then camping to save early start and queing ??
  9. i checked the feedback and in last 150 odd sales has only sold one turbo kit, but an offer of £550 was made and accepted.
  10. thanks Ben, ive got 2 cars, home and breakdown with AA and the more policies i got the cheaper the next one gets. really good discounts. and they really cut some slack on euro cover for me. big up the AA
  11. the new set up will be even more power but, made in a different way, it shouldnt break so many things. gonna have to wait a whole year to do this ring thing. Zandvoort (amsterdam) circuit might be getting a visit in a few months though
  12. yeh Nat, im not having much fun or luck with this car:( i had a standard (ish) vr for over 4 years, i just serviced and drove it hard everywhere. this ones a bugger though !
  13. new turbo is taking a while to arrive from US, rest of work cant be done til tubby is fitted, which will leave only a few days to test before the Nurburgring. now im a nutter as you know but taking a fresh built engine and turbo set up across 4 countries then blasting round the ring is not a good idea. i know how bad my luck is and id just leave it on the roadside if it blew again. so ive cancelled the boat, hotel and insurance (what a hassle) my next target will be spring gti festival at the pod !!th april (snowed last year). if i can i will do a pod rwyb before.
  14. im out! cars no where near ready. spring gti is next target. GUTTED
  15. that one makes loads of noise and wont spin freely. it was making too much power down low,so upping the turbo and housing, hope this set up will last a bit longer
  16. well, one problem led to another and i might have to change the thread title to 2 engines , 3 gearboxes and 3rd turbo. after closer inspection the 2nd garrett gt3076r was broken too, so this time it has been replaced with a garrett gt35r with a 1.06 housing, should be boosting by 3k then hold tight from there. also my boost pipes had taken a battering under the front of the intercooler and where fairly thin ally so not the best anyway, this has led to a complete re piping with bespoke tig welded stainless steel. all i want is a complete show season with 8 or 9 events that i dont have issue
  17. i only use my golf for mad ones and shows,so not a daily.
  18. the continental contact 2`s are a great tyre and are very cheap on this link from Rikki
  19. it depends how you drive, if you want the best grip in corners the r888`s, if you want long lasting quiet tyres then one of your other choices. grip or value ? up to you
  20. thats the exact size i got, get a local garage to chuck em on for a few quid.
