  1. Starter and alternatir ones can all be made new as they're only short anyway..
  2. Not sure what you are talking about tbh? but I used the standard vr6 shafts as they were, and changed to cups on the actual box to match them, they took all of 5mins to change, no seals involved that I done anyway
  3. The cups are the bokt on type on the DZL box, so you can run 100mm or 108mm cups.. whichever match ur shafts. The starter has 1 hole that needs drilling out iirc if u keep the vr6 one, otherwise the v5 will do fine but u need the bolt then as its threaded I think.. been a whike since doing mine, but its pretty much identical.. would reccomend a diesel 5th though..
  4. Money sent.. messages sent.. no replies?? Any news please?
  5. The amount of time I looked for a flash red 2door vr... If I hadnt already got 2 VRs I wouldve been straight on this.. lovely car Glws
  6. Haha no worries.. pm me ur paypal and will send funds with fees paid mate
  7. Must be the difference between early 280 setup and later 288 or something? I have gti arms on my VR now that I am building from ground up (came off my low milage 1998 colour concept) and they are identical.. (even compared to the old vr ones just incase)
  8. As above, I was dubious about that amount of money on some pretty coloured poly/rubber under my car that I wont even see.. Now I wont be without them. Make a huge difference and give the old VRs a new car feel with tightness on the road. Same with engine mounts, vibratech ones compared to standard is just ridiculous.. but all worth it for a keeper car..
  9. Didnt think vr6 and gti mk3 arms were different? Both are 5stud..
  10. Will fit 4 cylinder VAG not 6 cylinder.
  11. Ive had mine years.. got red, yellow and blue.. all go flat. Usually leave them hooked up as auxilary power in boot of car for a few days and they take a charge and come back to life.
  12. Grooved discs are always noisey.. Mine make a hell of a racket.
  13. Getting built up now mate.. done some welding of silly bits in the bay, painted and sealed under front arches, and all where the subframes meet the body, just got all the non abs lines n bits to convert aftre removing abs, get 3 nights off this week so gonna attack the loom then its the home run.. I want it on road in a couple of weeks now.. fed up borrowing cars.. Bay wont be painted but will be done and ready for paint..
  14. Still want some Cupra R Brembos, and now I want another V5 box with diesel 5th ffs hahaha. knew I should've kept the last one Nice work so far.
  15. The 6mm spacers go between the actual hub and carrier. I packed mine out with 3 washers per bolt. You need longer bolts to gold the carriers as well (6mm longer than standard, just measure yours and get them off ebay) The spacers are needed for any mk4 based brake conversion onto a mk3 platform as far as I know. 323 cupra r discs and brembos fit perfectly behind TT comps. TT comps are et32 and 7 or 7.5j iirc.. I would show u pics of the spacers and where they go etc but my car is now a bare shell haha..
  16. Think on the 280 ones you have to change hubs.. 288 hubs the later stuff all fits with just 6mm spacers or a few washers. posted in wrong section btw haha
  17. Heat gunned the wax off my bay and inner wings last week.. very satisfying but bored the life outta me. I'd say a heat gun and scraper for under seal possibly, but am leaving mine on and having an OEM ish type look under my car. Just colour coded.
  18. His names Hotgolf (google him) Charges 73 quid for normal lightened one, or 99 for the lightest possible he alsi knows his stuff and will guide u what to do or how far to go depending on what route with engine you are going.
  19. I payed 50 quid for a second hand one on here a while ago 5kg. Love it, loads of people said too light would make it harder to drive, its nade it smoother if anything. few will tell u to get it balanced WITH crank.. thats crap, cranks are balanced already, as long as the flywheel is balanced, then it will be fine. For the life of me I cant remember the name of rhe guy who does then for loads of people on the forums, 90 quid, u post to him and he posts back in that price. I mught have a message still on here will check.
