  1. So, I've been driving around in heavy rain today in a steam room, sorry, car. Steaming up windows but that is another issue unrelated to this. I have noticed when giving the throttle a slight press and releasing it a few seconds later, the idle slowly returns to normal but the engine bounces/wobbles around enough to make me look like a jelly as the engine goes below the 2 - 2.5k mark. Feels like a misfire but going the wrong way down the rev range. She doesn't hunt. I'm probably way off/wrong but am I right in thinking the 24v VR6 has a built in VSR (shrick mani) and that the flaps would
  2. 3 door mullberry highline. DTM exhaust. Multispoke alloy wheels. Had to double take thinking sal was in nuneaton.
  3. The chuffing gearbox. It got boring. I had 2 mk3 VR6 over 4 years. Had the gearbox off a total of 7 times. Inferior parts/clutches and my tendency to launch her more times than pull away normally. Oil seal went on both engines, 3 clutches, layshaft/gearbox input shaft bearing aaaaaaaand a noobie/moron moment where I didn't tighten one of the flywheel bolts, resulting in a recovery. Driveshaft bolts annoyed me too. Did them all without a ramp, 1 jack to support the engine, me sprawled over the engine bay and lifting the buggers off and on again. Oh, the other arse ache.... replacing and real

    mod hatred!

Rat look air cooled. Everytime I see a beetle or van driving along with a roof rack and impractical or empty suit case crap, I want to slap the driver. I can't stand slammed lupos with 5 year old pimpled geeks in the drivers seat either. There are thousands of them in show and shine areas. So you polish it, stick a cheap set of lowering springs with 2000 mile wide wheels that have a diameter of 2cm and think it looks impressive?. No. It doesn't. Me having the first morning wee and not hitting the seat is impressive. Though I suppose if it makes the owner happy, then let it be.
  5. So at the moment, you're driving around in a vehicle insured as a 1.6?. You have no insurance and if the above is true, you've been driving with no insurance since the conversion. Contact the insurance and ask directly what changes need to occur on paperwork/ inspection, for them to be happy when you do, not did, the conversion.
  6. If I won the lottery, I'd have won the lottery
  7. Yup. Helen, Nat, Sal and Anna. More about but those four young ladies had very tidy mk3's and Anna had a tidy mk2. They're very clued up on their VR6s and I'm sure they'd give any non F/I member on here, a run for their money on drag racing too.
  8. I'm with craggsy on this one. I brought an identical front off ebay.
  9. That VR6 on Emmerdale was a black 3dr. I got a picture of it and uploaded it here lol. Kane was leaning over it at his garage. I was wondering about the mauve/redish one in Green Street when pete and elijgha...elijha.... FRODO turn up at the train station for the Manchester match.
  10. You learn which family members to help out and which ones to "assist" with cash for parts before hand. This is one of the reasons I steer clear of a lot of old friends and family. Something for nothing with a kick in the happy sack as a thank you.
  11. So guys and girls. I have permission from SWMBO to get a Sharan. Not a golf or a Corrado, but it will suffice. I'm looking at sub 90k Sharans with either the genuine VR6 174bhp and that noise or the more subtle but powerful 204bhp engine, in the mk2s. This car will get modded now we are settled and comfortable financially. Considerations are; F/I... Unsure if s/c or turbo. One of the last mods to hit the car. Bigger wheels Lowered sensibly, not slammed. ??LSD. Exhaust and BMC.... Noise more than anything. The OBD 2 mk1 is a platform and engine bay that I know inside out, so familiarity is good
  12. Good god, that Miura and Impala sounded sweet. Thanks for sharing
  13. Whoa, I seriously doubt he's getting this kind of mileage.
  14. Pulled out of Texaco garage in camphill at about 0930. Some wierd guy in a black passat drove past with his thumbs up. Nice ride. If I'm not mistaken, same car had it's boot lid smashed in a few months ago, parked up in Hartshill.
  15. Easy enough to do a manual conversion?
  16. Black golf VR6 waiting to turn out of GSF in Coventry at about 1030. You had a beanie hat on and a lot of facial hair Slammed with black rims.
  17. One of my favourite movies. I loved how the seriously injured soldier stood and saluted him.
  18. Just check that any child seats you buy will fit with the seat belts. Our first baby seat didn't quite fit the belt around the car seat. Obviously, if you're the opposite to me (an idiot), you'll already know that
  19. Scar faced man is John Conner, the later years. Beginning of Terminator 2. My turn. Try this one. Pete, be quiet.
  20. Played an Atari and Amiga 1200 at my dads the other day. My mum got the Sega Mega Drive down the other day and I had a go at Marble Madness and Sonic 2. I loved Cannon Fodder and Super frog on the 1200.
  21. I'm still on the lookout for a Sharan 24V V6, Pete. Few and far between unfortunately. Too high miles and too high priced. I'm holding out for a syncro Sharan V6 anyway.
  22. That's one thing I regret. The ring. The years of ownership, I planned and toward the date, I always ended up repairing or being told no by SWMBO. There are some cracking pictures in those albums and it shows just how many great events I missed. Great albums there Pete.
