  1. I picked up my compressor tearlier, 2.5hp, 50l and 13cfm. Draper for £80quid. I used the rear axle from the mk3 bolts straight up onto the existing mk2 brackets. Mk3 pedal box needs rather alot of modification to fit, where as a corrado one is very simple! I am in need of buying a sander, but was considering getting a air one, Is the one you have good then?? Also with regard to the mk3 dash, iI was going to do it, but thought id be better off sticking with the mk2. Mk3 dash is nice, but in a mk2 the mk2 is perfect, has a nice old school feel. Really glad I chose to keep it.
  2. Thats what I thought, but cant decide with the above colours. Was also thinking of going with a real deep pearlescent blue, but thought it may be abit too max power. With regards to your prep etc, any more pics ??
  3. I cant decide on the same colour, or to go with something deeper, either Bright blue metalic/atlas grey/ or a gloss black. Yeah I used all of the mk3 brakes and rear axle. everything i used from the mk3, bar pedal box and front mount.
  4. Good luck too. I am currently doing the same, Just put a Vr in a 1.6 driver, same colour as yours but three door. Going on holiday this week, couple of weeks after I get back its getting stripped, home respray, smoothed bay and rewired. Are you respraying it the same colour??

    Joke

WTF??? lol. edit: regarding the party joke.
  7. Lol, Yeah i was, had almost everything, clutch and software away, had a engine built up in shed with lowered compression and recon head. just before xmas lost my job and sold everything at a big loss. So depressing. Just done a mk2 vr and hope to go down the route again in the future when my new venture takes off lol.
  8. Thought it was down to emmisions now over in europe, Thats what i had read in a lot of places anyways?
  9. Very good in and out of the corners, my mate has one with just 225, and it pulls well around the roads. No way as good as a vr on a run though,
  10. How do you know the battery is fine? people always think there battery is fine because they have lights etc etc. But its usually not. This is exactly what happens when your battery is dead, especially if it has got wet. I had a coolent hose burst and this happened.
  11. Straight through pipe all the way to the back box, Very loud and aggressive.
  12. If it is, hads your coolent been changed recently at all. Maybe air lock.
  13. Well ine was the same (two of them) so if your doing about a thousand and topping up i wouldnt worry. Well thats what i was led to believe after searching myself.
  14. I used to do about 1 litre every thousand miles, And isnt the difference between the min and max mark 1 litre?
  15. C2 motorsports Had some when I wanted them.
  16. Do you mean what way the cams should be when at tdc? If so they should allow the vw tool to slide in place at the other end, with the smaller semi circle at the top. Or a fabricated piece of 8mm ( < I believe ) metal.
  17. These arent much more expensive are they?? if your going to get new stndard ones I would get them for the extra bit of cash, Another mod, and maybe plans will change.
  18. Hey mate, where in herts are you, i now have a mk2 vr, (really messy sleaper lol) and would like to meet people local.
  19. Trade parts specialists do the timing kit all in for about £90, half that of vw and still oem i believe.
  20. Know this sounds stupid but a battery should sort it. I have had this on a couple of vr's and its always just been the battery. Exact same as yours.
  21. I have now basically completed my mk2vr conversion after coming to a halt with no money. i have bled my brakes at the calipers today and they still seem very spongey, Any ideas what this could be? i dont have to bleed the master cylinder do i like i have to with the clutch master?? help appreciated please :-)
