  1. Mine were done at 118k, and the guides were in bits, was quite scary when i saw what had been keeping my engine together!!
  2. Got to get mine going soon, bought xbox at xmas because of xbox live and still not on! Lazy git!

  4. Or theres one in the members section if you pay your premium membership.
  5. I got a manual off ebay for about £7 about 6 months ago, Pocket Mechanic i think. Very basic but gives you what you need.
  6. Not sure on most expensive, cheapest is petrol 128, diesel 142 last time i filled.
  7. What did it fail on? (HC, CO, or lambda)
  8. Sure? I thought they were the same, both 174 bhp?
  9. 215/42 will put your speedo out too as you'll have a bigger rolling radius.
  10. Replaced temp sensor and fuel pump relay today, so see how it goes over the next few days
  11. Watching this with intrest. VR turbo for under a grand :-d Might be tempted to try myself if it works. Good luck with it!
  12. Sounds like the crankshaft oil seal on the engine.
  13. My vr has developed a starting problem over the last few weeks. When the engine is warmed up and then left standing for a little while it sometimes wont start again, just turns over. Its done this 4 times now and 3 of those it eventually started after giving it some throttle, as if it was flooded. The other time i craned it over for ages with no joy, tried leaving it 5 mins and still no joy, then came back a few hours later and started straight away. Always starts when cold but seems to take a few more turns before it fires. Any suggestions would be apprieciated before i start chucking parts o
  14. I'd think fitting mk4 brakes to a mk3 would be alot of work as mk3 uses tapered wheel bearings in the disc and the mk4 doesnt. Not sure though, may be a simple swop. Not sure about size tho. Mine are nakered aswell on all 4 corners and i was thinking to get drilled/grooved discs and deacent pads for the back, and get the 312mm setup up front.
  15. Anyone know where i can find some info on how to prep and spray a car, either on the web on a deacent book i can order? Fancy giving it a bash to see how it turns out!
  16. paint them red definatley! ive got quads on mine, the ones with the carbon look surround and i hate it, getting them painted soon!
  17. Yip me too!! Mine are all mashed up aswell, work in a garage and see alot of mk3 golfs like this, infact pretty much all of them!! Not really a problem though, just makes a puncture even more of a pain in the ass trying to get it jacked up without it falling on you!!
  18. Try spraying WD40 around everything, might shut it up. WD40 can fix anything!
  19. If you have the late spec vr6 brakes (288mm) then you can fit audi TT discs (312mm) using the original calipers and a spacer for the bracket. Think you probs got the early setup (280mm) though being an obd1. Shouldnt be too hard to find a 288mm setup though if you wanted to fit TT discs.
  20. Jetex and miltek are both supposed to be pretty quiet when taking it easy, but give a better sound when you nail it. Im thinking to get a jetex system and decat soon as my exhaust is just about sh*ged!! Looks to still be the original though so it done well!
  21. I get about 26, but thats alot of long runs with a bit of town driving. Have to admit theres some runs when i try to get as big a numbeer as possible on the MFA. I recon i could average about 30 if i drove like a granny all the time, but temptation always gets the better of me and i have to bury the loud pedal pulling away from junctions, or when im stuck behind some slow c*nt and have to overtake Quite happy with 26mpg, better than my old 320i. Am considering an old mk3 tdi tho for the daily commute, but id miss having a powerfull car!
  22. Alonso is a TW*T!! Cant stand the whining crybaby!!
  23. Ok cheers, think weve got one at work that might fit, hopefully!
  24. Jst seen how to do it, was being a retard before!
  25. I uploaded photos and into an album and was going to rearrange them, i,e, oldest first, newest last, but cant see how to do it, if it can be done.
