So you need to create the best spark possible to ensure the fuel mix ignites well (looking for a good KV rating like 35KV). All obvuious so far. The reasons for upgrading cables covers a couple of basic areas to ensure you get the spark you want. The manufacture of them uses other materials instead of copper as a core such as stainless steel, tin etc etc ( a better conductor) they are then wrapped in other materials so as to surpress all elec

Ok, So time for an oil change & I have saved enough for the oil cooler so want to get it done. Here's my question. I am looking at the MOCAL type. (car is charged) and I seem to recall some conversations that the Phirm do one for about £250 fitted that is good quality and includes all parts needed. So is that correct and or what alternates are available???? Thanks chaps (-esses) R

I must admit I have had Powerflow before but my local guy was pants so went with longlife this time. The lifetime G and no service visit clinched it for me. Also the - have what you want as it's made to order was a bonus. £350 all in for a 3 box system with a single tail pipe which was also tuned to work with my charger. I got mine done in battersea should you want a reference for a site who did mine well. Like the guys say nice and quiet until the right foot gets exercised then all hell breaks loose As the guys all say it's down to the installation team on Powerflow. But Longlife are

Usually the little ends are fine. If you only have one big end worn this helps the chances are all litttle ends fine. Little ends is quite an unusual fault in the scheme of things Of course you can mock up the engine using the old bolts - no issues at all. Many people do not repllace these bolts when they replace the big end bearings. I assume you have the pistons out so you can give them a visual inspection. The eye is quite good at this type of thing All should be ok ...

heat wrapping standard manifold ?
rodney replied to philbatesvr6's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Well not sure if it is worth doin tbh on a std solution. The benefit of heatwrapping are 2 fold! the first is to reduce heat in the engine bay. So if your air filters etc are all shielded then no real issues there the second is it does actully help draw the hot gasses away! Just a right pain to do LOL -
I had a track day with work nd we got to drive Euro spec racers for the single make series. Man they are a Hoot N a half. Not a ladies car ! For those in the know on modified Minis this is the same kinda thing. Try it and then see how long it takes you to stop laffin & smilin' ! When she gets a new car she WILL be gettin a GTI lupo and it will be tweeked!
