  1. You want & need a remap on a rolling road! As you have to run the car in for at least 500miles there's your run in and the trip home will be much more fun. (just take petrol money as you wont be able to help yourself) Then you can do an oil change etc The reason people use Stealth is he used to set up racing VW many moons ago and knows them inside out and his quality is good. so if you have an issue then he can fix it as he goes. Give him a bell. Also worth getting mk2 cool plugs and ensuring your Lambda is working correctly as that is needed. Also he will try setting up as MAF to
  2. Yes! Engine wise no issues as long as built and maintained correctly Oil, warmed thro' etc etc etc The big question is more about - - - Can you afford the fuel bill??? Which in turn is how light is your right foot! I still get 30+ on a run but LOTS less around town!
  3. just in time for the VF9 Group buy then Looks sweet m8. shame you couldn't keep the mk2 also eh!
  4. WI is optional really depends how hot the car runs. Have a look at some of the links/guides in the members sections Good luck
  5. I don't think you look a day over 3 Happy BDay
  6. I think it looks fine m8 (Snigger) Do you need oxygen at that height So in summary ---- PLease lower it.
  7. I got a longlife system and the tone does move/chill as it beds in.. I got a 3 box on mine I bet you love drivin' thro anywhere where it resonantes now LOL I must admit you can have so many options and they actually know what they're talking about. Plus it is TIG welded not just mig as some places do. Njoy!
  8. Would be good to know who you got to make 'em and let us know what workmanship was like for future reference And if not too personal a price bracket
  9. The only way forward is made to measure IMO. Call people like Longlife where you get lifetime G for free and you know it fits !
  10. OK well if you're going 300+ then turbo is the way forwards. THere are quite a few threads on here but basically it is as reliable as you spend! get a quality part and it will last!" Obvious I know! As soon as you modify one componant it affects the next thing to it. So if you want a good reliable engine take your time and spend the money where needed. Make your internals good. Get the right Turbo for your needs with stand alone management and the car will run for ever. If you want big power then you will need to deal with the gears/transmission. you can of course have them treated....
  11. Ok so I understand that the "slackness" in the links to the wheels is the major cause of loss. It does seem to me that we are all losing something between 30-80BHP in transmission depending on how lucky we all are. So I am interested if it is just in the gearbox? As we all know that is a big area. But is there anywhere else? Even if it is theoretical? For example - Flywheel. It increases BHP but then limits the cars ability to deal whith inclines as the mass is required by the engine.... SO where else do we have losses?
  12. Well you can take an off the shelf R32 engine to 650 BHP there is a few videos in the members section of it! But like said above. How much you got? you could always put 2 x 650BHP motors in which gives you 1300BHP! If you got that much money.... fancy giving me some?
  13. Ok guys n gals, Now whilst I understand we have losses in BHP figures from flywheel to on the road. What are the causes of these and what can be done to improve or remove losses? Cheers
  14. Weeellllll, from an electronic perspective chips come in lots of flavours. If the chip isn't an exact match you can get different Voltage and current levels where you dont want them. Also the install process is key as you can damage a leg and even static can create a signal level sufficient to blow other aspects on a board. So whilst they are plug and play. It is a more complicated process electrically. Also remap doesn't cost you on insurance like chips can Hope it helps..
  15. Nope not allowed to have two way signals. Pits can only receive information! Unless there is a change I'm not aware of
  16. Well should I continue with the theory? YES and why not! Well if you saw the interview with the little grey man (Bernie to his mates). He predicted it pretty well really! I would also like to get a bit far out and say isn't it funny how his car had a 30second fault where the Dash flashesd and then with out him touching anything on hos wheel, we saw the footage, it resets itself! Then the car works like a dream for the reset of the race. I lost how many people he over took and Correct me if I am wrong wasn't it 18th to 12th on one lap! Please for Kimi tho' he deserved one before now and w
  17. Cheers it still stings - years later ! I used to be an Idiot but then.... Now I am all about leaving gaps, observation, environment etc etc etc.. I still keep up with the traffic but in a VERY very different manor. I do a lot of miles for work and see an accident most days. Having to watch a fire engine hose the road off 'aint my idea of fun! Dirve as you all feel fit but remember the consequences . Sorry ! End of sermon!
  18. I must admit I do like the old Group earas with big wings and big turbos... Lush is worrd of the week
  19. Ok so it is getting towards D-day on the Old F1 calander and I was not happy about the result last week and raised the question locally that if the team had wanted they could have brought Lewis in at least one lap earlier and should have been 3 laps earlier! I said that this was all part of Lewis not being allowed to win this as he was too young and Alonso was all linked in to it Farrari secrets etc etc. Well the news today following practice is that Lewis has been out on 2 sets of wets when he is only allowed to use one set at this stage. Another mistake by the tem! Or is it ? Whilst ther
