Give us some boundries otherwise we can suggest stuff till the cows come home... Fot example, Lotus Esprit Turbo/TR triumphs/Rovers with V8s/TVR COme on give us a clue what floats it????
  8. squire.... In theory the metal in the hub is sweet and over engineered. (All manufacturers do this as a matter of course as they know we exisit in the world ) HOWEVER........ (YES IN CAPITALS) You dont skimp on anything that keeps contact to the ground or stops you! Do you? So why would you put the area that keeps the wheels on at issue????? As said people do it. I am a little OCD so if it involves steering stopping grip etc etc it is done with best engineering practises. Trust me the barrier/Hedge?ditch?etc Hurts.... SO fit the right hubs for the job or adaptors and the CORRECT (YES CAPITA
  9. i do kinda like that and as i have to clena the engine compartment this year i could use if for that aswell...... LOL

  12. did you see the v8 bussa engine someone made? big bhp on little weight size, It was on a hill climb somewhere if I recall
  13. but you can make them hugely fast LOL
  14. worth a look at the DIY thread just revived. There are some interesting bits on there. He has also modded the oil flow for direct injection... Have a read quite interesting... Are you going to be track racing this??? I ask because of ensuring the oil is still available/pumped under hard cornering etc so may be soemthing to look at.... Also how far are you going with this? Are you getting the chambers and vavles checked for equal volumes etc etc???
  15. as the guys said. get it seviced and understand what VAG codes you have up then you can start looking for stuff. Oil isnt usually tooooo bad for the CAT (short term) Petrol and heat are the main killers on the CAT.
  16. two things dont let off the accelerator and second is it a belt kinda whine like on a charger or the likes? and not an electrical whine like on the stereo????
  17. and again 20% so far..... LOL you on e38 as well????
  18. Welcome as you are a premium member you can get on to the links for these options so just do a search for the key words.... People have opionions on each of these so worth the read.... Most dont do chips they get a remap or modify cams/forced inductions...
  19. I love that they call it the R8 Le Mans
  20. you only need about £100 more mate and you're there ! It's so worth doing it right....
  21. There is a little catch tank with some steel wool in it. Take it out and give it a clean. there is by default a little oil that gets its bay back as youd expect. If this is full and the catch can is full you will be surprised how far a little oil will go. The other suggestions are worth looking at also... let us know how it goes
  22. Taht'll be a NO then..... LOL
  23. Whilst not specially analytical... the area of 4.5k typically has two main areas to look at no matter what engine. Spark plugs gapped incorrectly coilpack/leads starting to breakdown the ignition pulse... so check the system around these areas...
  24. With regars to the mk2 change check the engine mounts as they can go and also the exhaust is wrapped or the likes and no cracks. It can get hot in there and the zorst doesnt normally have a flex joint. Check the oil change frequency and the belt(s) is(are) tight and wear free. Worth checking all usual mechanics and asking if the chains have been changed.. usually around the 100k mark...(I forgot if he said they had in the advert). Other than that bomb proof. temperature in the engine is what kills 'em so as long as it runs cool even under boost and has good oil and water flow not much els
