I got mine for £3,350, a bit over the odds considering the mileage, lack of coroberating service history receipts, dodgy lowering job with fucked shocks all round and no stereo, but I love a challenge!! I've only had the car just over 3 weeks i've put in a simple sound system (replaced standard speakers with pioneer 3 ways, pioneer head unit, and JBL 1000w 12" sub with matching amp screwed to the back to keep the wires hidden. Spax adjustables all round, Pipercross Viper induction kit, new discs and pads all round, Scorpion cat back exhaust, and a shit load of work at Sawston VW to put right

A bloke is in a queue at the Supermarket when he notices that the rather dishy blonde behind him has just raised her hand and smiled hello to him. He is rather taken aback that such a looker would be waving to him, and although familiar he can't place where he might know her from, so he says, "sorry do you know me? She replies "I maybe mistaken, but I thought you might be the father of one of my children !" His mind shoots back to the one and only time he has been unfaithful, Christ! he says "You're not the stripogram from my stag night that I shagged on the snooker table in front of all my m

Tell you the truth, I had £9,000 cash in my hand, and was all ready to buy a 2002 Impreza WRX, but then my boss said something about "common" and "council estates" that really put me off, so I thought of something different, and here we are lol

I pretty much agree with Mark, i'm hoping to be a full member so I can have the benefits, and also so I can hopefully share my existing knowledge with other members. I look forward to becoming a full member soon!

No kidding! These are a shit to clean too, but I certainly wouldn't mind upgrading to a set of BBS splits, I think most BBS wheels just look the nuts on the MK2 and MK3 golf, better get saving lol

Shame i'm not closer to yourself (a good 500 miles!) otherwise we could have got both cars rattled out!! Oh well, good luck, I might even have a crack at mine! -
Well worth a thought at least, I don't want to go too chavvy bling with it, but i'm sure a tasteful set may just do it! How you getting on with your wishbones?

Wishbone changing??
Devildub_06 replied to Ciaran's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Yeah, if the balljoint is incorperated into the wishbone, you will need a breaker as you say, but it will be a bit awkward to get to i'd imagine. You won't need to remove your struts, unless of course you fancy doing the top mounts, and if you're doing all your track rod ends, then the best way of getting them within the ball park is to count the number of turns to take the old ones off, and refit in the same amount of turns. I'd also still have a full alignment and track jobe done, and she should all be better. Good luck to you (if you have any joy, might give me some enthusiasm to do mine) -
Nah, nipples scratch up paintwork like nobody's business.....

Right, i'm still going over all the faults and rattles and things in my Highline. When I picked her up, I changed the speakers in the front door pockets, but the grills supplied didn't fit, would standard grills go back in with aftermarket speakers? (There's hardly any front face protrusion) And I've changed the rears, now I may be talking bo**ocks, but I can't help but feel that the mounting rings are an aftermarket installation, haven't got pics at the mo, but the location of these is in the rear "cards" (it's a 3 door) with the speaker mounting ring being partially covered by the base of th

They look a bit like a rip off of Splitfire duals, and i've never really rated those. If you've got hesitation, then you're better off tracking the fault down, instead of throwing money at "guesswork" items. For instance, has it got a decent service history? If so has the air filter and fuel filter changed recently? I'm no VR6 expert at the moment, but as a fully qualified car mechanic, the amount of proper hassle an old fuel filter can make is unreal. You're better off checking the simple things first.

Wishbone changing??

Hiya, did you definately track all that play to your wishbones then? Cos you've picked a bitch of a driveway job (that's why i'm paying for it lol). Either way, you're going to need a balljoint breaker, collection of sockets, jemmy, one or 2 big mates, and a whole lot of hassle lol -
What do you say to a scouser in a uniform? Big Mac and fries please I don't scousers honest, it's just luck of the draw with my back catalogue of jokes!
