  1. it would cost me £50 in fuel to get to the phirm..lol i put my car on a code reader today my m8 has.. it said came up with idle valve? i have already changed it tho? he gave me two more to try later.. if that doesnt do it i dont know wot to do? he did clear the codes aswell!
  2. also i went to my local garage told him my prob, he said yes i would have to put it on vag com. but he wants 40 quid plus vat just to plug it in!!!!!
  3. the one in the second link. is to plug it in to early obd1, the plugs are different to later ones.
  4. cant get thro boot either!! pilth has been replaced by metal replacement and smoothed in!! hence no locks...lol my clifford key fob has been prog 2 undo windows tho...

  7. yes got that bit, but i thought haldex do one to change the load front to back. like 80/20 etc
  8. my m8 has mk4 r32 and wants to know what a haldex does? and what advantages it has over std set up. also were can u get one from and how much? basically is it worth getting one? cheers peeps..

  11. mine is white, im giving it a repaint soon. i was thinking the same thing! original colour would prob be best to sale the car on, but why go for the norm, i was thinking of BMW techno violet. i work in a large paintshop so skys the limit when it comes to colours!

  13. ecu is under passenger scuttle panel, remove ecu, undo and remove small torx screws at end of ecu, pull out board. in the middle of board is one big chip, remove cover and gentle pull chip out. to fit new chip simply push new chip in and replace cover, and put every thing back together. easy..there is no soldering with a simple push in chip.

  15. stick the car in 4th and try pulling away if the clutch slips then its fucked. not sure bout bleeding the system or really how it works tbh?

  17. i just met my m8, and had a look at has vr, i put a volt metre on his idle valve plug and it gave the same reading as mine? so i guess it isnt the ecu? back to the drawing board?? :@

  20. i got ones from gsf and they were shit, they wouldnt fit in the runners and were really hard and wouldnt bend?? took them back! then got some XL ones these kept arking out on dizzy cap? now got K1 racing ones..have made a difference but the rrp is 130!! i got them for 56 tho other wise i wouldnt of bothered..

  22. i put a advance motorsport one in mine, got it off flea-bay. seemed to be abit better...wouldnt say it was brilliant tho? would never buy a superchip for 200 quid like some people do! ones on e-bay are cheap, but u are taking a risk on wots been done to the map tho?
