  1. No seals. Couple of hose clips maybe, depending on what type you have.
  2. Strewth, I hope everyone got home OK. I had freezing fog all the way. Did mean I managed 39.6MPG as I had to drive like my Gran. TG
  3. £10 per person entry. Then £20 to sign on for sprints. www.rwyb.com
  4. The short one would replace a breather pipe from the cam cover to air intake. I wouldn't bother as it's supposed to have a oil trap. The other is also not a coolant pipe. On mine it would go along side the ISV silencer, near the throttle body. TG
  5. Unless you have Sky+ or the NTL:OnDemand thingy
  6. Taking the battery out gives you a lot more space to play with, especially when trying to get to the back bolt.
  7. I've always reckoned that NOT using the VR6 for 10K miles a year saves me enough in petrol alone to cover the tax and insurance on the 16ver. Perhaps I should use the 16ver for all 15K and ditch the VR6 altogether. Perhaps not ;-) TG
  8. That is just so gross :-)
  9. Indeed, I managed to round off all three. Turned an hours job into a week.
  10. Nadia and I are there. This months tutorial will be 'common coolant leaks'.
  11. I've just noticed: Julie's Sixteenth Birthday. PMSL
  12. Sorry Cadders, I missed you post saying you'd got a place on the ferry. And to be fair, you only declared yourself as camp yesterday ;-) Every thing else is up to date, now. Apart form the will they/ won't theys. Mark booked 15(?) cars on the ferry all of which are camping. The total number of actual peeps depends on copilots, hangers on etc. TG
  13. Brake lines are rigid metal pipes. Brake hoses are the flexible ones which join the brake calipers to the brake lines; allowing the steering and suspension to work. Brake line comes in straight lengths, which are cut to length and then bent to fit the desired application. You maybe able to get preformed lines from VW.
  14. Step 1) Filling her with petrol. Step 2) That's it ;-)
  15. GPC VW & Audi where selling them at Inters last year. Very popular I seem to remember. http://www.gpcvwaudi.com/ Genuine VW parts but normally 25-33% cheaper then a stealer
  16. Hi Ant, Power gasket +s are a different thing. They are for the inlet manifold. Are you still coming on Sunday? I'll be happy to give it a good look over. I've had numerous leaks since I got mine. TG
  17. It's quads. There are three 'creatures' suckling!
  18. SpeedFerries are no longer taking bookings for the 7:00 sailing. Must be full (of Ringers). Did you get on it As? TG
  19. The common leaks are: the thermostat housing being cracked or seals perished. the bearings/casing of the Aux water pump. the heater matrix shot, check passanger carpets or the main water pump bearings. Run her up to temp on a cold night and look for 'steam'. I should really put this in the FAQs. TG
  20. I think Andy and Missus are hotelling is well.
  21. Welcome to the wonderful *-) world of VR6 ownership I don't know the exact details, but in brief, AFAIK, you have to take the front of the car off! TG
  22. LOL! Funny how none of the fairer sex have stepped up to defend their genders navigational skills. My TomTom's powered by white van man. The voice of reason, init geezer. TG
  23. I'd have thought the cold would explain it: A cold battery will deliver less grunt, your oil will be thicker and therfore take more effort to move and finally, for know, the serpentine belt will be both slightly smaller and stiffer again adding to the turning resistance. At least the cold means more ummph when you're running :-D TG
