    speed is great just not on a severe left hander 5 up in a shit car with no idea how to drive!! luckily although injured people werent killed, i amsure it has changed somes life though, full of himself the little cock that did it though, utter prick. ther has been around 7 lads under 20 killed in my area in the last 6 months, all because they think they are fernando alonso in a 106 with a sticker on the door!! cars should be like bikes, get your ticket then progress to a more powerfull machine when you earn the right to, to many graveyards full of silly teenagers.

    main dealers its about £12 i think for 5 litre, if not order it from GSF they do good prices on it.

    £75 an hour is fine if you drive a 50k car! 8) not a 3-5k 10 year old one! why dont dealers adjust the price according to age/difficulty of the job? when i worked a vw it was £50 an hour, a £5 cheaper than the volvo dealer i worked for prior to that! all dealers have got people by the gonads with new cars due to the warrantys and tech stuff on the cars. I suppose they quote hoping you wont have it done! and if you do? whatever technician gets it will moan like fuck! i can hear it now.... shitty old golf... why do i get the shit jobs.... give it to the apprentice....etc etc

    embarasingly i cant find his phone number!!! i used to work with both of them and they know their stuff, just pop in and have a chat mate, i am sure they can sort it out, andys done a few vr6 head gaskets!

    prior to all the nonsense with ULTIMATE TUNE (you must have seen the supercharger thread?) i was hoping to charge my vr too, now i am gonna wait untill a reliable decent priced charge supplier comes along! seems like it really makes a vr6 once its fitted!!

    !grr thats a bit heavy! is the motor defo gone? i had a rear one that wasnt working and i got it going again by the old ..operate the switch and keep "opening and closing the door hard" trick the motors stick sometimes on a tooth and once freed mine has been perfect ever since! its worth a go as it cost me nowt! other than that there is always loads on ebay or breakers

    or give simon and andy a try G&S behind the BP petrol station (the one in the lay bye just before M20 junction) as you come away from Maidstone (engineers road) both are ex vw main dealer techs and have all the diagnostics etc and are really nice blokes too, tell em a fat copper with a VR6 sent you and they might give you a discount!!!

    try and get a vw diagnostic check, it takes away the guess work!! cheaper in the long run

    the amount of peoples water pumps that have been posted on as being knakered this week you can hope its that!!! the rad or water pump are cheap and reasonably east to replace, so fingers crossed.

    get some of that tyre goo the US ARMY uses in its tyre on hummers etc, cant remember its name but it stops any sort of puncture even bullet holes! which is handy if your near any US soldiers!!!

    ignition switch on my golf had to be changed by previous owner coz of that, one symptom was airbag light would flicker and some dash lights didnt illuminate every time ignition was set. barrel was worn too!

    i can still get really good discount on genuine vw parts, upto 25% on some things (some more depending) on some service stuff its more!, i know its a pain to get them sent etc, but if anyone wants something just prior to a show (that i am going to!) i can always get it and bring it along, dont mind doing that for anyone
