guys if it was a vw then i would be all in favour! it may be a decent enough car! but.... dont forget the focus was a replacement model for the escort!!!!!! errrrr

i have convinced nearly everyone in my family they should own a vw!!! my mums just got a nice new polo! cousins and aunts have various vw`s, i havnt convinced my brother yet! he does love em but for practicality he has to have a mini bus jap thing to convey all his off spring in!! my dads had a few vw`s but now hes in france he went for the soot blower focus! errr.. anyway just about anyone who i speak to gets convinced to buy a vw or audi or seat of some sort! i dont think old adolph thought his concept would catch on! 60 years down the road and nearly!! everyone is driving a "peoples car"! i

warren the badges are only a few mm thick, they completely cover over the RH badge on your original cantre cap, so you still retain a shiney back plate with the slightly raised badge as per some porsche models (personally i dont like the later black and silver embossed porsche caps, they look cheap!) dont know if you have ever noticed/ but the RH caps are 2 piece, the silver is over a black plastic part, which!! if your not carefull falls off! i have redone all of mine with double side 3m tame as i dont want them falling off! and under the silver they are only held on with some white adhesive

i will speak to the man! just so you all know guys, these are not complete centre caps! the badges are proper porsche crests size is 3.5 x 4.5 cm they are proper coloured crests as per centres of original porsche ones they are backed with 3m tape and stick straight onto your existing centre cap, the pic of mine is the size they are in relation to the cap, which is subtle but nice, i think! the price i was given was around £30 but i think this will come downa bit to say around £25-26 (maybe less!!) mark for a set of 4 !!! + postage out to you guys which woont be much, if you all definately wa

Q,1 Highline vr6`s come with aircon, a lot of other cars have it as an option and also leather, (highlines have highline written on the log book and unless its purple or black its not a highline) Q,2 change over year is 1995 around N plate you can tell a later spec car buy oval wing repeaters and no wheel arch trim and completely body coloured trim and bumpers, it should also have an obd2 version engine slight differences to earlier type (some early highlines have the square wing repeaters though!) just to confuse the issue! Q,3 most issues are the same as other car buying guides, just check

question on subs and 6by 9s
purple highline monster replied to golfa's topic in I.C.E, Security an Electrical
all speakers drive better off even a small amp, dont forget big watage speakers dont always mean they are loud! i have just fitted upgrade Alpine speakers in all 4 doors on my vr6 and although not ALI G stylie load!! it sounds nice and really good quality sound they are only 40 wats rms 220 nominal but they sound fine even run off the Alpine cd head unit, decent speakers and a sub are better than 6x9`s as they just get in the way and wreck your shelf! -

you could have damaged a bush by jacking it up there! the jacking points are under the sill at the leading edge of the drivers door underneath!!!, jacking on anything else risks damge or putting things out of alignment, as for wheel bearings they are only supposed to nipped up HAND TIGHT then slackened off, if they are too tight they will burn up and fail! taper bearings are supposed to have a slight bit of play in them but not too much, people keep reporting mot testers and knob jockeys at garages are telling them their bearings have gone! the garages need to read up on these things! instead -
Callum Best is set to inherit at least 50 million pounds!!! all he has to do is return all the empty bottles!!!! !amazed

my quads are really bright! i put uprated bulbs in them and they are really good in the dark, you can also get H6W halogen 6 watt side light bulbs (bayonet fix type that look like mini h4`s) they improve visual lighting on the inner lamps too, much clearer and whiter light than standard peanut bulbs, in fact any sidelight can use them, they are about 8-10 quid for 2.

Tailpipe Cover Thingy
purple highline monster replied to gup1973's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
nooooooooooo dont do it! you can get a decent backbox from supersprint or jetex etc save your pennies! besides as the pipes tilt downward you cant fit those horid pipe things anyway -
i was wondering that too! looks v nice!! wonder what the reserve is???? 5k with those mods i would think? its an r plate too

each car will be more desirable to different buyers though! i dont think any vr6 highline or otherwise is worth more than 5k tbh, 2 years ago when i initially started looking for a purple highline they were all 6-7 k, more than i wanted to pay!! depreciation on vw`s has never benn bad so can always get a good price, even if you lose 1k in 2 years thats less than most marques! my father in law has a 1999 4.0 XJR jag 54k new its done 16k and its now worth..........15k at most!!!! now thats depreciation!! its still an awesome car though!!!! woops porsches and the like, 4.0 Supercharged V8 makes a

having only ever owned VW`s my whole driving life, i dont think i would ever stray from the vw stable (unless it came from from stutgart ) prices are all relative to a cars status and "wantability" i bought my mk1`s for peanuts and 7 years down the line i got 3k for the green one!!! i also got my money back (almost!) on the rallye, i had that 5 years and "lost" 1k so thats not too sad at all, i did buy when they were right pricey mind! hopefully the VR6 will have the same future cult following as other top of the range vw`s over the years, and the mk3 shape is now viewed by most, including v
