Hey Guys Reverse lights on my 97 VR aren't working. Checked the bulb and fuses and all ok. Could it be the reverse switch? If, so is it easy to resolve/repair/replace? Or does tonnes of stuff need to come out to access it? Thanks Tony

My brother's car.... (56k put the kettle on)
TVR6 replied to Col_M's topic in Members Rides and Event Photos
It does look sweet and they are great motors but 15k? A year down the line you could probably have bought one for that price without the hassle. -

They had a similar feature car on Top Gear a few years back. It was based on a Mk2 RS2000 (similar to the one on the opening teme tune for the Sweeney) with fully cossie conversion etc. The showed a 911 turbo, from the front, belting down the track and this thing just pulls out casually from behind and leaves it behind. It was f*cking awesome 8)

Couldn't see the article, just a link to EIP. You have to admit that it's a good looking product. As for performance versus the Shrick, does anyone know for sure? The Shrick is still twice the price...

I hate bullies with a vengeance. Got bullied at school until I realized I had fists and was allot stronger than most (LOL affected my schooling for a while as I went from good student to dosser, for a while...) Never picked on anyone in my life but never backed down from anyone and always get involved when someone else is getting bullied. I love that look when a bully realises he's been defeated.

Nick, you sure abouts the points? I thought it was 3 years they lasted (from the date of the offence, not the endorsement) and could be wiped after 4 years? Unless it's changed and 'speed trap' sites are out of date...

What will my car run with....?
TVR6 replied to YoungRicky97's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Depends to a great extent how you drive also -
In the scheme of things, I'm worse off. 35 yrs, Full NCB, £660, Fully Comp!

BMC induction kit - who runs it with or without the cold air feed?
TVR6 replied to matth76's topic in Engine Tuning
I would have thought that it would suffer without the cold air feed. Not in this weather perhaps but definitly during the hotter months. On a rolling road the car isn't moving so no forced induction as such (the cooling fan used with the RR isn't the same as with the open road)So how could you really tell? -
I have to say the same, I'm loving the dragon green on those rims. What rims are they and what size?

when did vw 12 year anti-corrosion garantee stsrt
TVR6 replied to DommyVR6's topic in Bodywork and Styling
I have a small amount under the sill trim on the drivers door. When i called their Customer Services I was told to book it in to a dealership but I would be charged for an inspection and only refunded if it was covered by the warranty. Feckers! Perfect get out clause. -
Eat This is right although they did produce an early Mk4 VR6 with the 2.8 12v engine. It was for the US market only and didn't last long.

Congratulations Daddy It's a life changing experience but a worth while one

What? Are you crazy?! There's a Saxo to be had for £500 less or a Corsa for £1k less

I have trialled Optimax and Ultimate over the course of 4 weeks each and found my car to prefer the Ultimate. The Optimax performed no better, and the economy was worse. I have tried other fuels also and found Ultimate to be the best all rounder. Don't forget that Optimax relies on additives to raise the Ron rating and if the pump is not used often then the additives can settle leaving you with a very expensive 95 ron fuel

I must say, I didn't used to like green cars and for the most part I still don't. I was looking for a VR and although I had the money I couldn't justify an extra £1500 for a mauve/highline at that time, when I could get any other colour in a perfectly good car for allot less. Saw the dragon green and fell in love with it. It's not like other racing greens, it has a pearlesecent finish which looks amazing when polished up. So there it is, we're all individual and love what we love

Shurrup! You're all jealous just coz I have the best VR of the lot and it's the best colour too and the fastest too. It even flys and floats on water and can go up walls

Buy one of each, only way to be sure

TVR6 replied to DommyVR6's topic in Bodywork and Styling
If I'm not mistaken the manual or another peice of literature that came with it, says 8 years. I'll try to find it to confirm. I wouldn't trust VW Customer Services. -
The more 'popular' colours have become boring IMO. It's good to be different/individual. Why conform? If you like what you have, it's all good

That's right, BMW only go the NA route as do Honda hence the likes of the BMW M3, M5, M6, Honda Type R, NSX etc. The only Turbo's are those used in the diesels. I would not expect a 325 to give you any problems, nor a 328 but a 330 properly driven could.

Hello m8, assuming you're being serious and I'm not being drawn in... It's the engine coolant. The engine coolant is red in colour (sometimes blue, although the most up to date is red) It's mixed with water to a certain strength and in a nut-shell it provides cooling, anti-freeze and anti-corrosion protection to the engine during all seasons.

LOL I'm going to run mine into the ground then I will most likely replace it with a Carrera GT as the Veyron's a little excessive
