Very tasteful Nick, a huge improvement on that last trolley of yours

Perhaps things hace changed... Years back I had a lowered car with body kit etc. I was driving through the west end (London) and there was a cop diverting traffic, well actually splitting traffic between a left turn and the road ahead. I slowed and noticed a huge dip (crater) in the road and pointed to it but the cop signalled me on. I got out the car and he got a little abusive and told me to stop obtructing the flow of traffic. I explained that my car was low and that it would likely tear the front of my car off and could I please go on ahead with the other cars. I think spite got the betetr

I had considered the M3 Evo (E36) but maintenance is very costly and the Vanos unit is a real cause for concern if it goes, and it does go. There's always the Alpina's B10 or B3 (both straight 6, 3.3& 280bhp) for around £10k. There are plenty on www.pistonheads.com amongst many other beautiful must haves.

LOL There is always that Golf VR6 which was powered by two VR6 engines (front and back) Can't remember who owned it but it used to do all the shows and I beleive it competed it the UKs fastest car challenge one year. One of the engines was a 2.8 and the other a 2.9 if I remember correctly. LOL that's a split V12 & 5.7 litres!! !amazed

What about a Cupra R? Something different but still from the VAG stable and by all accounts better than the GTIs and as good if not better than the S3 for much less money...

Hello & welcome m8. Nice colour

One of the chaps at Styledynamix told me that they should be setup with a full tank of fuel, oil topped up, water levels also and the driver in place. lol sounds a bit excessive but he says it works.

Ohmigod, is this serious? Where have I been, I didn't realise they now had the power to take your wheels or to place you on a 'list'. That's plain ridiculous. Granted there are instances when clearly a driver should lose his right to drive and perhaps even his wheels but I'm worried about those that will abuse their powers in much the same way they do already. WTF kind of world is it when a unifrom gives you the right to treat people like sh*t and talk to them in any way? I really resent the officer that pulled me for speeding, not for speeding or for the outcome, that was my fault and i got w

Dunno man, I think the days of crappy built Fords are behind them now.

I don't disagree, you will always see the 'merit' of something better but some people really do have a budget and as far as budget kits go they're quite highly regarded. I agree that if you plan to keep the car for any extended time i.e. a few years then it's always worth the outlay but if you plan to keep it a couple of years at the most you won't see the money back. It's purely a personal thing.

Guys, stick with the matter in hand, no jokes or speculation on miscarriage or suicide, it's not tasteful. If he is lying then he'll get his, if he's not then he's in his own hell right now. Whichever it is, we don't need to stopp to the that level, assuming it's bogus. It seems to me that he has made some effort to refund some people but obviously not enough. I agree it would ehlp if he came back onto the forum or contacted everyone direct and kept them informed. Just my opinion and as a concerned member for my fellow members. There seems to be allot of talk when positive action is needed. J5

Slim, why's he off his head? It's the fitting cost not the shock/spring kit that's in question. The fitting cost seems a little pricey but if he can get them fitted at a much better price then he's still saving him self around £150 on the setup. Coilovers usually cost a little more to setup as they require adjustment.

What about if you use one of thise little hobby tools like a Dremmel? Wouldn't that work? Or one of those small 'mouse' shaped orbital sanders or a similar polishing tool? Got to be worth the small outlay to get faster results and avoid wankers cramp

New Aerial Rubbers Available from VAGparts.co.uk
TVR6 replied to Matt W's topic in Bodywork and Styling
Very useful, thanks for that m8 They certainly do split. I cannot beleive that VW get away with charging for an entire aerial when the base rubber is quite literally a push on fit. I had to repair mine when it split! Just hope it hasn't let any water in ( -
what is the size of the wheels on this vr
TVR6 replied to a topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Mmmm, definitly the Rials 8) -
Faaaaaaak dude, you need to get some sleep, those are some serious bags under your eyes

Slim? You old enough to drive? You look about 13! lol Sorry dude

I have 'trialed' Optimax, Ultimate & Tesco 99 and have found the Ultimate to work better with mine in terms of economy and all round running. Optimax was ok but my VR seemed to drink it and the Tesco juice was even worse.

Short runs = fast exhaust rot too (unless you have a stainless) I would say amke the journey a longer one so that the engine gets at least a few minutes at normal/full water and oil temp and change the oil and filter 2, even 3 times per year regardless. I have done this over the 2 years that I have owned my VR and can honestly say that it makes a difference and keeps the economy healthy too. I make a point of cleaning my air filter twice yearly (K&N panel) and this makes a difference also.
-
True... Regular oil and filter changes are an absolute neccessity for any 'short run' car. I think the manufacturers have allot to answer for, there's no advice given in the manuals and with these new 'super oils' being engineered to give longer service life, some engines do not see an oil change for two years One of my colleagues has an Audi A6 and regularly talks about the merits of 'modern car' ownership and how his car does not need an oil change for 24 months. Showed him his dipstick after 19 months of driving, black and thin. Showed him mine, light brown and consistant.
