the brown is most likely to be from the heat of the weld burnashing the exhaust slightly, but its tricky to say without seeing a pic of it :| -
cheers guys, i didn't say that it was coming from an established garage that only deals in merc, bmw and golf, i voiced my concern at the problem and they are gonna check the head gasket and give me 3 months parts and labour warranty, does that sound a better deal? drove it today and it runs real smooth, no dead spots or strange noises.

hi all, found a new vr (97 highline) with 90k on the clock. there is 'cream on the oil cap',some white residue on underside of bonnet near the windscreen. how can i tell if the head gasket is knackered or if a bit of moisture has got into the oil another way. possibly from radiator blockage. the car has been sat outside and not driven for a few weeks. cheers adam

yeah amazon do them, they come from america so can take a while to be delivered, i think i paid a nifty for mine there abouts -

could be a faulty cat or lambda probe, my cat was knackered and the smell of fuel was very apparant. -

i'm sure its not the tracking, it will be camber or shocks. camber (and they will do 4 wheel alignment aswell) will be approx

the clips in the cnter of the seats are best removed using a slim flat ended screwdriver ,just prize them off using the metal bits they slot onto as e lever

from what i remember of antera doing his interior, the cab was a mk 3.5, some new bits like steering wheel etc, but pm antera he'll know

trust me the blue carpets will look awful, get a black one. they are difficult to get hold of but there is a guy on www.edition38.com breaking a mauve highline and he will have a carpet. look in 'auto jumble' on there site. cheers adam
