    i recently recieved an ASBO warning as the police claim my car is to loud. it was maily due to the induction but anyway!! the exhaust i have is custom built but is rather loud for my liking always has been but now i recieved this warning i feel i should quieten it down. i konow if i bought a standard exhaust it would work but i would rather keep the exhaust as it adds performance but somehow quieten it down. it has all the original silencers but is 2.5" bore so anyone any ideas???

    does the expansion tank lid need to be stupidly tight to not leak?? cos the level has only gone down since i removed he cap for the first time since getting the car. when i removed it then it was so tight i had to use a set of mole grips. when i retightened it i only hand tightened it a slight bit!!

    lost water in the coolant gradually over the last 2000 miles. its only gone from the max mark to slightly under the min is this something to worry about or am i being daft??? no mayonaise under the oil cap and no noticible leaks?? also is it ok to top it up with normal straight water?? also the car has done 87k and is driven reasonably hard at times.

    eat this that wont work cos it thinks your car is ticking over and using fuel and not moving. just look next time ur car is ticking over in neutral the mpg drops!!!!!

    sorry about the section thing cant see any link can u just give me an address cos think the work firewall must be blocking the links out!! also it must have no power cos the light would come on if their was a fault with a sensor surly!! plus it should be on for a few seconds when the car is started then go out it does not come on at all. i presume it is still SAFE to drive my car like this????????

    got a set from some one on here with base plates but the base plates seem alot larger think the will come out beyond the plastic trim inside the car that covers the screws. think will look crap any explanations or ideas??

    can get mine to read 90+ trick is make the car warm reset at the top of a hill in 5th and let the car cost down and walla!!! i did 60 miles last night average speed was 80 and mpg was 31

    does not come on when i start the car now or at any point. had a fault last week where it would come on sometimes and not others now this has happened any ideas?? oh and the abs aint working!!

    how much? and where from? as the current one has got numerous chips and cracks!

    mine is coming on the odd time at the moment aswell. it eigther comes on staright way when i start the car or it doesn't come on at all. would that be a sensor then?? also my ignition sticks a bit so in the past if i didn't turn it by hand to the correct position the ABS light stayed on could this be the problem??

    how do i do it other than undoing the old one and jacking her up anything else that needs done??

    ur current engine is a 12v for ur info!! so it would eigther be a 12v or a 24v!!

    so how do i go about changing the front engine mounting?? just a matter of taking the bolt out the middle loosining the other 2 and jacking her up is it? or do i need to dissconnect drive shafts etc??

    well im going to wrap mine can get wrap from halfrauds. i plan to do one coat and hold it on with jubilee clips and then im doing a second layer the same on top. will pro do it next week il stick up a few pics when im done!

    ok got it. can i get all the seals belts etc from ECP? also anybody care to comment on how to change the engine mounting??

    great although can i get a new drive belt, sealing washers etc from ecp aswell? sounds easy enough. u reccomend removing the pulley wheel to get the belt off then?? can i not just loosen the tensioner and unbolt the power steering pump??

    think u find the valuables one's will prob be the mulburry ones as they are rarest.

    well both on order so will be their ready to fit when i arrive home. wondering how to fit the engine mount is it jkust a matter if slackining the fron mount and jacking the engine up or is their more to it?? also have a power steering pump to fit is their any spaecial tools needed to do it or is it a simple swap. should i just drain all the fluid out then refill it when i have the new pump on??

    i bought a 6-2-1 manifold when i bought the car in jun still not fitted it and it took me 2 months to fit the mk4 style headlights. also got drilled and grooved disks to fit. have a ram air induction kit but heard the BMC was better so splashed out on one and was so dissapointed that it did make my car faster but was to quiet. now iv been lazy for a while she needs a power steering pump, engine mounting and break pads. then all i need to do is get my cheap 17's rerfurbed and buy tyres for them. and then their is the fuel bill spent

    i am an instrumentation technician. work offshore 2 on 3 off 12 hour days plenty money but can be seriously dangerous at times. that reminds me better get back to work!!
