  1. Saying that, my seems to have a slight pull to the right for some strange reason.
  2. Hi matrix, yeah i get that too, just the one knock mind. VW spanner said it was bearing but not to worry about it. Doesn't do it all the time either, more when parking up and stuff.
  3. Cheers Justin, just wanting to double check.
  4. They don't tend to really pick until 4k upwards as a general rule as far as I have been told. They are pretty tame cars as standard.
  5. To any of you who have or have had TT comps on their car. Can the original wheel bolts be used when fitting the forementioned? 6.5 X 15 original wheels on at the mo. Sorry, probably a daft question. !shy
  6. Can't go wrong with aSupersprint set up either m8. Loud when hot though.
  7. LOL!!! Nice one Nick. I had only just realised the silly bugger was going by number only when i was through Matts post a couple of times ( . XJR Jag? Yes please, i'll take two . Cheers Boys!!!
  8. Matt does it sound more like a whiney noise rather than a hum? And does it seem to come from the cams, in other woprds the top of the engine?
  9. No sorry, my apologies guys ( !!! I'm seeing the tosser hasn't explained himself too well. Am i right in thinking that 84V is higher rating than 86H and therefore perfectly acceptable as a better tyre. I think he looked at the number only and not the letter, and got his info wrong. That sound right? Has anyone got the manual with the tyre info on, so as to make sure? Thanx Matt and Nick.
  10. No not the speed rating m8. theres a double digit number just after that. Example: 205/50/15 H 86. These last 2 digits refer to the load/preassure? which the tyre can withstand maybe? Something in connection with the weight of the car which affects the performance of the rubber if çi've got the translation right. I've got 86 on my current tyres, but can't find over 84 in 205/40/17. What i'm hoping for is that the 86 is overrated. Straight MOT failure if this number is lower than manufacturers recommendation. Plain rediculous if u ask me. Any ideas at all?
  11. Unfortunately, shipping isn't as well priced as Kilokillas offer otherwise i would definately have it. Once i get the opportunity, i'll be checking all mentioned. Cheers lads.
  12. Can anyone tell me the official tyre load recomendation for the Golf 3 VR?. Currently running 205/50/15 with an 86 number. I'm so hoping that it's 84 or less. 205/40/17 tyres don't seem to go above 84. This is gonna cause me problems at the MOT over here, and i'm really cacking myself ( . Any ideas guys n gals? ( ( (
  13. In my opinion Si, thats the sheer beauty of your mods m8. Confuse the pooh out of people. So much yet so little. They know it's a Golf, but are forever wondering what is it thats making it soooo damn special. Those plastic arches are just blantant optical illusion, they're so obvious. And wheels look a little lost under there too. Simply Stunning yours m8.
  14. Will do pal, thanx for the info, your a star m8.
  15. I think it may be a bent tie rod or summin. I've just noticed the near side wheel sits a little further back in the arch than normal, the offside one is positioned as it should, central in the arch. I'm i right in thinking this? BTW, thanks for the offer Kilokilla, but would end up costing more than it's worth in shipping it over m8, thanks all the same.
  16. Isn't the Monza a Senator Coupe? Used to be called a Royal or summin before ´83? Bloody barge from what i remember. LOL
  17. Aah! I've many a wet dream about these. Didn't wanna mention it just in case i got cusssed into oblivion.
  18. Almost bought an Alpina 2.7 before the VR, shame it was such a dog, cos it was extremely rapid, like u say Ingham.
  19. 3 series was about as small as it got with a big 6 cyl. Hence all the fuss when VW launched the VR Golf/Vento/Raddo. I think the trend really started from there.
  20. Is it me, or is the forum heating up just a little these days? Must be the cold weather i think. Velocity, what u choose to drive is your business m8, but i think the peeps on here r just trying to stop u from possibly making a regretful mistake. Many have gone away only to return.I love my VR, but no way do i think it's the Holy Grail of performance machines, theres plenty more i'd have, but for the monies theres little to touch it . For me, it's the family it brings you when u own a VW. The scene is imense.
  21. Naks r the nuts, have to agree wholeheartedly with Matt here, high price means i don't have one. Pioneer are deffinately warmer sounding, which ever one. Alpine only worth getting if your putting in Amps and stuff. Didn't find the JL's that amazing for the price tbh, unless we're tlaking subs and amps. Alpines sound fantastic for minimal outlay inmho.
  22. I have one seat that works and one that doesn't. When switching the working one on, i get that click from the switch. But the other one doesn't click, or work obviously, could that also be the relay guys? Gonna swap the relays round once i get a spare mo and see.
