  1. Stand looked great - some sweet looking cars Sorry my VR didn't make it. I've been running it low and it hadn't dawned on me how much the junk for the show weighed - subsequently i got about 5 miles before having to turn around, it was rubbijng soo much i thought if i carried on it'd pop a tyre :-( . Going up in convoy meant heading home and transfering everything into my daily was the only answer to make the show - at least the rat piece polo made it! Jake - Appologies for not letting you know i wasn't going to make it, i forgot to jot down your mob no. Anyway the stand looked great and plen
  2. Does anyone know if A3 wheels like these http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=57523 will clear 288mm discs? (late mk3 GTI/VR6) They're 6"x15" with et38 Anyone tried and succeeded / failed ? Cheers
  3. Looking at my back ones (really must fit the fronts this weekend :-| ) they must be capable of more than a 65mm drop. I'd say mine was dropped about 40-50mm at the mo on 17's and mine are set in the middle of the tread so i reckon the backs are certainly capable of a 80-90mm drop - gotta be low enough for anyone surely!
  4. Claire (vdubgirl) on here can get Koni coilovers for £556 - at that price you don't need a group buy :-p I know 'cos I bought the first set (shiney chrome effect too!) I've only fitted the rears so far but the quality seems excellent and they've massively improve the ride and handling without being too firm.
  5. You are young but you will learn my appretice! :-p - I've not fitted one of these myself so can't be much help suggesting a solution. But if it genuinely doesn't fit then raceland's response is not acceptable. If they are a registered business (pretty sure raceland would be) then the goods they supply have to be "fit for purpose". So if you don't find a way to make it fit (which you shouldn't have to do but we've all have a go at making parts fit!) then go back to them and demand a suitable replacement or refund Hopefully someone will have a solution for you though
  6. On green i reckon m3 style rears suit but with the top section tinted red - so you have red clear red rear lights. If you do have a go at tinting your own lights this guide http://www.corrado-club.ca/mods/tailtints.html should help prevent the dull effect fourmotion mentioned
  7. Take a look at this http://www.edition38.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=45325
  8. 328 has better traction and weight balance, and surprisingly little between the 2 in total weight. But I agree with Eat This: vr to 100, 328 beyond
  9. Certainly are rare and pricey too!! 8-) Best place to look is ebay.de but beware you wont be the only one looking for them. I think someone in the US is doing replicas, do a search on vwvortex.com
  10. Nice wheels As you say they're fairly cheap so you could get them polished! (h) There's a couple of people on edition 38 that could probably do you a price from that pic - pureklass, the polisher etc.
  11. Oh yeah and this on the way home (damn reflection in the window, :S )
  12. 100k - no chains yet, sounds okay at the moment (touch wood)
  13. Here's a couple from sunday Jon - only saw yours, that one on Elite1K (v sweeeeet) and a black 5 door in the car park
  14. Good show and great weather = top day Anyone got pics? I'll post mine up later. Jon - your highline was looking sweet in the car park (field (m) )
  15. The lower power turbo scoobs (i.e. < wrx on early cars, and non Sti later ones) are pretty quick but soo low geared, that they start to run outta puff when you get near autobahn speeds so I'm not surprise you started to gain in 4th. Scoobs are very quick of the mark mind
  16. Anyone going to this http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?121184 (sorry about the double post - 1st posted in wrong section)
  17. http://uk.geocities.com/britishvwevents@btinternet.com/stonor.htm Anyone going?
  18. Looks lovely on the new wheels mate Are you developing a fetish for black rims with a polished lip :-d
  19. £560 see http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?96918
  20. My rear wheels are rubbing (despite arch rolling :S ) so coilovers are the order of the day. I'm thinking of going for Koni, being a long established make but what do people who've got either reckon? I've heard that fk's have a few issues with disintergrating retaining nuts (probs v unusual) but they're supposed to be a softer ride than koni's Anywho, what d'yal think?
  21. Lovely car VW should have offered this in RHD in the UK. We always miss out on the best specifications :-(
