The soothing drone of the VR6 @ 82 - 83 mph
-
I'm into web design and in my opinion this is an excellent site and there has obviously been a huge amount of work put in to get it to this stage of development. Yes it may be slow at the moment but i think we're lucky to have such a good looking and well layed out website for our use as we could be using some prefabricated raabbish from microsh*t. Wait for the update guys, it won't be too long now...

People that overtake then slow down in front of me when i'm cruising, that really pisses me off...

30-40mm drop - Advise please!
Ferrari VR6 replied to Ferrari VR6's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Not sure really how much i am looking at but £50 a corner, more if neccessary... What do you think? -
Hi all, Well, im finally gonna do it, i've gotta get my VR off it's stilts! I've decided to go for a 30-40mm drop... What's gonna be my best choice for shocks or coil overs? I'm looking for something that's reasonable quality but as cheap as poss, a fixed height is not a problem as well. Can you suggest makes / models please?

No it's not as hard as GPL. This race sim has been in development for a long time and it was free for testing (there still is a good demo). The sim is not a mainstream project but created by 3 guys dedicated to making the best race sim available. There was and still is a large racing community behind the game that fed back details of what needed to be improved before it was released. The first part (S1) was released about a year ago with S2 to be realeased in the next few months. IMO this is by far the best and most realistic sim on the market to date... The racing is bumper to bumper a

Any guesses of coolant leak source?
Ferrari VR6 replied to Bullwinkle668's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Sounds like it could be the heater matrix leaking, i had this problem in an old sierra a few years back, it's a total slag to change but doable. I've never swapped one on a VR, so i'd wait for some more advise / ideas before ripping you dash apart, good luck mate... -
what kind of car kicks a VR6s' arse?
Ferrari VR6 replied to apd's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Briefly getting back to the Saxo VTS barney, i gave this geezer a total drubbing in my stock VR yesterday evening, i was on the M25 south side taking a mate for a blast, anyhow i'm crusing about 85 when i'm coming up behind him, indicate out, increase to 90, he's still accelarating, im along side him and squeezing my VR 95 / 100 and now infront, pull in front of him and he tagging me at 100... and then as if from above, a big long straight hill (J8 i think, for those who know the M25) so i turn to my mate and give each other the mutual boot it nod and grin, we boot it up the hill to 125 and th -
The only decent auto that i've driven was a BMW 328i. I drove it from London to Yorkshire and back on a weekend so i had a good run in it shall we say... Anyhow the car was sweet, another piece of quality German engineering The car was smooooth, very smooth, and nice and quick as well but for me i was always thinking...I wonder what it would be like in manual? I think it would have been simply...more fun So for me in my opinion i wouldn't buy an VR6 auto purely because the auto box is not a sports box. Both manual and auto boxes have good and bad points for example auto's are great for

Yes mate, no right handers were made after '94 but you can get them professionally converted... you know it's gonna co$t tho! and to insure... plenty as well, but it'd be worth it

Now here's an alternative within the price bracket, although not quite as quick as a Scooby (unmodded) the Integrale Evo like the VR has bucket loadsa character and a sweeeeet lump up front! I know it may never start and will probably fall to pieces being made by Italians but it's a cool car and goes like a rocket, i seriously was considering buying one before i bought my Golf [ Edited Mon Sep 06 2004, 12:40PM ]

Thanks for your comments on this guys, they did sell me the thin 5W/30 so it looks like i'm changing the oil again... but more expense :@ so soon, oh well the VR's worth every penny as i'm sure the majority would agree
-
Hi, i've recently changed my oil to fully synthetic oil as recommended by Halfords from their oil book (should it be fully synthetic) and now my VR seems to be developing a kinda tick tick ticking sound especially at low revs. Any ideas as to what this ticking is and if it's related to the oil change and what should i do to sort it, i'm getting paranoid that i'm doing her some damage Cheers!

Hello, What's the correct oil temperature for the VR? Cruising at about 85 mine is at 106 and drops to just below 100 at lower speeds, is this correct? What are your average temperatures people?

Superchargers... Z-Engineering v VF-Engineering
Ferrari VR6 replied to Ferrari VR6's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Thanks very much for your comments people, much appreciated... Any more info will be also! -
Can anyone tell me which of these two chargers is the best one for the job. They both cost roughly the same and give roughly the same performance increase. Also what level of fuel consumption can i expect after fitting one of these little puppys? The VR6 engine / gearbox can handle the stage 1 convertion to 250bhp? Am i right in saying this? Please discuss this subject, i'd like to learn as much as possible before modding my stock VR6
