I haven't found a breaker thats got a late MK3 yet but i'm at work so it's a bit tricky if you know what i mean, there's none on egay either but thanks anyway stu, shame about them ones from waynee h, anyhow i'll update this string when i find'em... and also anybody else if you do first please!
  2. Just been on to VW parts about getting the smooth colour coded bump strips for my 3 door, they quoted me £180 for both sides! Jeez that seems like an insane price for plastic strips! Anybody know anywhere or got any ideas where i can get them from that's not gonna make by bank account twitch? I had a look underneath my plastic arches at the weekend and it all looks sweet so i wanna get them off as soon as.. but i need the smooth bump strips first. Ideas please people, i know it's looking like i'm on a breakers yard phone mission tho init...

  6. I'd get a decent mechanic to check all the front bushes for wear. I recently had my rear bushes swapped, although they looked ok the car handled like a pig on sh*t 8) When the bushes were removed they were shot to pieces, the car handles so much better now, so, apart from the bearings and the bushes and making sure everything is tight, i don't know of anything else it could be, i would get it checked out soon tho mate...

Hello mate, 28-31 mpg sounds about right to me, my puter seems accurate enough, they do drink fuel as you've probably realised by now but as for half a tank of fuel it depends whether you mean 60 miles per day or 60 miles for bothdays... I would think that 120 miles could be about right for half a tank depending how you drive it but still i'd expect a few more miles than that, 2 day journey to work for me is about 160 miles and that's about half a tank, i'd keep a close eye on it and try and work it out with out using the the puter, just bear in mind that if you boot it, the VR'll sup down a g

  14. Hey guys, i want to fit 7.5x17" Audi rims with a 30mm drop on my Golf. What tyre size am i looking at to avoid rubbin'?? Anyone got experience with 7.5's? Am i looking at getting 205/40/17 or 215/40/17 or alternatively i can get some buget junk 215/45/17 fitted on a deal. What's the score people? Cheers, Dave.

Got my first 3 points and £60 fine last week, caught doin 47mph in a 40 zone, spose in a way i was lucky cos i was going a fcuk site faster before i saw the trap :@ dunno what the fine and point structure is but i think that if you were doin 80 in a 40 you'd probably get spanked harder? anyone know?

  20. 93K, timing chains were done at 65K, i have VW receipts for a £1700 service 3 years ago
  21. lol, i'm with you there on the oil burning tractor thing, ballsey tdi drivers golf or passat get on my tits but from experience the vr is definitely quicker as it just keeps going and going and going and you know eventually all they'll see are your tail pipes
