  1. Eibachs, you can just fit and forget. With nuespeeds the rear rose joints would need lubing regularly.
  2. How do you have the breather set up at the back left of the engine? Is it still feeding into the inlet or have you set it up with a catch tank?
  3. So you have 245bhp on standard cams? What spec is the rest of your engine? Ive got the 268's and there great, decent midrange when combined with a vgi and the torque curve is almost flat from 4000rpm to redline.
  4. Though ive just reread your post and you didnt say your engine cut out as I thought, so ignore that.
  5. This will probably be totally off the mark but I used to have a 16v that done something similar once when one of the battery terminals came loose.
  6. Ive been thinking about this as well, strathclyde have been advertising a lot recently so I should really get the finger out and fill in the app.
  7. See the following thread for details on how to get an amd type throttle body for about half the cost. http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?37632
  8. If you want a 6speed then go for the gemini kit from Stealth, bit more expensive than quaife but worth it. Probably about 3k though if you go for that with a diff. Getting my gearbox removed, rebuilt with quaife, new clutch and refitted came to about 1400. Changing the final drive would add about 200, id probably go for a lightened flywheel and uprated clutch as well if I got it done again, that and changing the 5th cog for a slightly longer one and it would probably be near enough spot on 2 grand.
  9. Not sure, but the final drive is the same on 2.9 models as the golf. American 2.8 corrados get the 3.6 final drive as standard. [ Edited Thu May 12 2005, 08:21PM ]
  10. Copied and pasted from another forum: New for 2005 is GTI TrackShow, a major new event on the show calendar. The venue is Donington Park race circuit, which is just off the M1 at junction 24 and bang in the middle of the country. The concept behind the show is simple: get the best venue, make it as central as possible and then pack it with the UK's best traders and masses of show cars. Throw in a massive indoor traders hall (no getting cold and wet here!), together with exclusive GTI-only track slots on the Saturday and we've hopefully created something that showgoers will really enjoy
  11. Im not completely sure ive got the maths right on this but I think basically with the 3.6fd the engine will be revving about 10% higher for each given speed, and with the 3.9 it will be revving about 20% higher. With the 3.9 the vr would probably be hitting the rev limiter in 5th at about 135-140mph.
  12. At the very least go for the quaife diff, expensive but well worth it. If I was getting it done again id definately change the final drive, standard is 3.3, sensible would be going to a 3.64. A bit mad would be going to a 3.944, avoid this one if you do a lot of motorway miles.
  13. Do not use dot 5, its silicone based and will rot the seals. It also expands more when heated and on some cars can cause the brakes to jam on. What you want is dot 5.1, this is a suitable replacement for dot 4 and is higher rated and lasts longer. Pretty cheap from halfords as well.
  14. Calipers are the same as 288's, not sure what size spacer you need.
  15. Use either 205/45 16's or 215/40 16's. 215's are slightly under the standard rolling radius, 205's are slightly over. I preffered the drive on 215's, though it was a bit more harsh with them, this was on standard suspension. I reckon 205's would be perfect with uprated suspension.
  16. If you can get access to a buzzgun it will get them off no problem, ive heard of people driving to a garage and getting them to loosen them, leaving the bolt on loose then driving home to remove the shocks completely.
  17. Eurotek sell a lower front strut brace for £50. Would this be the same sort of thing? I take it the golf3 one would fit a corrado as well?
  18. Golf figures may be higher than they should be and near to the claimed standard corrado output, but also consider a lot of corrados make more power than they should as well. Mine made 205bhp before I done anything to it.
  19. All the vvt is for is economy, if its ignored then the engine will run well, just not as efficiently as it could. The inlet manifold would make more of a difference, id imagine its set for top end and you would lose a good bit of torque low down, unless you get something like a schrick controller for it.
  20. If its just a book for the engine your looking for then the Peter Russek book is ideal, and cheap. Go to https://russek-manuals.net/pages/newentrance.htm Click audi/vw at the top left then vr6 at the right. Alternatively look for it on ebay at an inflated price.
  21. The web adress changed again: http://www.corradoclub.org/
  22. Ive heard good things about Hi-Spec brakes as well, check out there site: http://www.f-inbigbrakes.co.uk/index.htm
  23. Not as far off the ground as the pic above but not bad considering the suspension set up.
  24. Between 90 and 95, with an increased rev limit after the remap. Corrados must have a different box.
