    New bod...

Regulators on a fiesta are pretty easy to fit, don't see why the golf should be much different. Never done it mind, or looked behind the door cards either, so it could be really hard %-6 , helpfull ain't I, lol Anyway welcome to the site mate , i'm sure someone will have done this before
  4. What options for brembo calipers etc with 16's?
  5. Nice one Justin, very handy that :-) Geastb, i'll send you those bits anyway mate, bit later tho, got to go out shortly
  6. Nope, not unless you want to take your old suspension apart mate, will scan the stuff tomorrow and email it to you tomorrow evening :-)
  7. How do you quote from more than one person in a reply?
  8. I'm running 17's with standard suspension and had no probs with rubbing, haven't had it fully laiden yet tho. I'd say just set the suspension stiff and sod the bumpy ride
  9. No worries mate, I was suprised and well happy when I realised I wasn't gonna need to use the spring clamps. They only cost about 30 squids tho so I'm gonna get some anyway cos I got an RS1800 festa to take apart
  10. Coilovers should only need the bits that aren't in the actual suspension, think I'm right in saying that.
  11. I'm not gonna post pics of my car in a hurry then
  12. I ain't done it yet but I believe its pretty simple, Fronts, remove wheel and undo the 2 bolts which hold the damper to the pivot hub, unclip brake hose. Remove cap in engine bay, remove nut using an allen key to hold strut in position, remove all washers and rubbers from engine bay and remove suspension from car. refit all rubbers to coilover and put back in car, refit two bolts at swivel hub, using new nuts, refit rubbers and washers in engine bay and refit nut. Refit wheel. Rears is pretty much the same, only there is inly one bolt at the base of the strut. refit all washers and rubbers
  13. I just put it down to Americans being stupid, , not very pc that is it!
  14. I really don't understand why cars were orinally made LHD, most people are right handed, right? Then surely it makes sense to controll the vehicle at all times with your right hand? Was Henry Ford cack handed?
  15. You may find the sensor hanging down in the engine bay, mine was/still is (lazy f00ker), plus there was a post somewhere with a picture recently.
  16. Plastic trim for me, drivers side scuff cover thingy, ova the seatbelt tensioners, plus fixing screws for both sides. Also boot bottom suff thingy, (good descriptions huh)
  17. lol......i take that as yes then ......hummmmmm.................autobreak ......g&l........gun hill.... Ha ha, where's the yellow pages
  18. I think its just down to luck with the rubbing, when I was looking for my VR I saw one that was lowered and running 17's and the guy said he hadn't had any rubbing issues
  19. Ur right mate, we didn't get where we are today without asking questions, even stupid ones, lol. You can rest assured I will no doubt ask a few more :-)
  20. Very nice mate, thats why I went for the coilovers on the group buy (I know you were thinking about it), shouldn't have to worry about rubbing untill I get the arches sorted. The car looks really mean in the second picture, luuuuvly [ Edited Sat Jun 05 2004, 10:18PM ]
  21. As acf says, I just didn't know, really the question was asked by one of my mates which I couldn't answer. I will openly admit to not knowing a thing about engines.
  22. Noooo, VW phoned me this morning, one of the rubbers I ordered didn't arrive ~ Wont be getting it till Tuesday so won't be fitting till next weekend now, *&%£ [ Edited Sat Jun 05 2004, 11:38AM ]
