    Nick, the samrt windows were a clifford add on. Basically they allow you to vent the windows slightly once the alarm has been armed. It goes thus - arm alarm, press arm and boot release buttons together and windows open a small amount, press them again they open a bit more and so on. It also makes non one touch windows one touch as in my fiesta. It would appear that it is possible to use the extra ports on the alarm to get the windows to start/stop using the keyfob anyway. Really this feature (on my festa at least) was good, but the golf being abit more advanced doesn't really need it.

    When I fit the new suspension kits we are gonna be getting, what bushes/stops ( ?! ) would it be beneficial for me to change/uprate at the same time to save on time and expense later. Cheers

    I've got lots of stone chips on the front, a bit of rust on the drivers side rear wheel are, quite a few scratches, (gonna get some black tcut or turtle wax I think), and what looks like a large spider under the paint on the drivers door. :?

    Your rear windscreen wiper doesn't have to work, many cars don't have them at all. My escourt passed with one stuck half way, so they can't failed to have noticed it. Plus the washer didn't work.

    Cheers grayo, I've already decided to go for one of the new range clifford alarms, probably the intelliguard 850. I'll have all the stuff you mentioned plus blackjax and probably a few other features I don't know about yet. Apparently the smart windows don't work very well with cars that already have one touch windows. They can be made to work but it means cutting up circuit boards, breaking into the motors and a whole lot of hassle, don't know what your thoughts are on this? Of coarse you can always use a couple of the outlets to work the windows, which wouldn't be as good as smart windows,

    Its defo rhd. Could be someone else was holding the wheel, I've done that a few times. The best one is people who can drive using their legs, i've never been able to do that.
