  1. Doing this myself this weekend when I fit my coilovers, and am instrested in the setting of the camber issue myself. In the guide Binliner posted the other day it says you should set the camber to neutral, how do you know/do this? (but to be fair it does go on to say you should get it set correctly at a garage once finished)
  2. I likeyour thinking mate, lol
  3. Heh heh, virtually Sufflok mate, tractor boy country. Have you been to a junction 29 meet yet, next one is 27 June, shud be there myself, suspension depending like! [ Edited Thu Jun 17 2004, 12:10AM ]
  4. I live in a village between Braintree and Colchester, North Esat Essex I suppose. What about yourself?
  5. I need some new wheels as well mate, got TSW Venoms which look ok but are sooo dated now. Just can't afford it. Need an exhaust also but will have to wait untill the standard one breaks before I change it. Can't justify it otherwise!
  6. By the way, did you fit the coilovers yourself in the end or get someone else to do it?
  7. Nice one mate, gonna get some pics up then? Still ain't fitted mine, got all the bits from vw now, just not sure if i'm gonna get the chance to fit them this weekend ~ Two weekends i've had free and not had the bits, this weekend i've got the bits just don't know if i'll be free, ~
  8. Yep, just get a flat head screw driver and prise them up and out she comes.
  9. Never wash in direct sunshine if possible, by 7:30 in the summer evenings my house casts a shadow over the drive, perfect time to wash the car :-)
  10. I got quite a collection of Autoglym, but gonna get some of the meguires gold polish, worked a treat on a dodgy spot I had at inters
  11. All trial and error really. Bamp ur right mate, bird shit eats away the paint. She'll be washed again this weekend tho, hopefully lowered as well. I ain't gonna hold my breath for VW parts dept tho.
  12. Me olds always used to moan saying me older crappy cars were dirty, I just used to say if the car was worth cleaning I would, lol
  13. I've only owned 2 cars that I have cleaned more than once I think, the VR and the RS1800, so I haven't had that much practice. Gettin there tho, takes me fookin ages tho.
  14. I'm still learning how to clean my car, it ain't been washed for a week and a half and as such was quite dirty, loads of bus, general dirt and a few blobs of bird shit. Bugs no probs, got the hang of that, just scrub the front end of the car first, wash down, then wash the car as normal. However when I go to leather down, I can still see the bird crap marks, bugger! Have now learn't that I must scrub these hard first as well! Bit of a pointless post I know but, what the hell [ Edited ] [ Edited ]
  15. I thought about buying one before I got the RS1800, and also before I got the VR. They do look nice, but inside they are like most french cars...shit
  16. I'm not getting any errors :-) Still losing pm's tho :-(
  17. That is the chance you take mate, I'm gonna fit mine, next weekend now, bloody VW parts dept :-( , Never done it before, but done discs and pads, power steering oil cooler, and a few other bits and pieces on my RS1800, but I would still class myself as mechincally uninclined, just can't afford to get someone else to do it at the mo.
  18. Cheers Olly, pretty much how Paula does it then, you'll need to use the back and forward arrows in your internet explorer as well :-)
  19. Agreed mate, my point was that older cars with heavier steering may have been harder for the not so butch ladies, although I suppose steering wasn't as heavy at higher speeds. And yes they do float like a boat with standard suspension, but now i've had the car for a bit and getting used to it ihas quite a lot more grip than I first realised
  20. Crank it up and bring the noise
  21. I don't really think it matters if you are a bird or a bloke, if you can controll a car and you have the guts you can drive fast. With power steering it is no longer a task at the wheel so why not? Keep goin for it IMO
