  1. Ok mate, i'll let you know. Getting abit of a knock when braking and pulling away so just gotta check the top nuts at the front are done up properly, shouldn't take long, so i'll give you a bell when done and see what you're up to, cheers :-)
  2. Give em hell mina, its no wonder garages get bad names, they think everyone is stupid and know nothing about anything, IMO
  3. If you look under the rear seats there are a couple of earth points ready made, just unscrew them and hook it up, thats what i've done and i've had to problems whatso ever :-)
  4. I've got to clean it and borrow the works camera' date=' but hopefully i'll get some up this weekend, if not very early next week. Still ain't got you cover done either mate, sorry [ Edited Wed Jun 23 2004, 11:27PM ']
  5. My insurance company won't insure me if I lower my car! Luckily it runs out in 7 days so I won't be uninsured for long, they think i've jacked it back up to standard height, the muppets, lol
  6. I was just expecting it to be a harder over bumps etc. Still I ain't complaining :-)
  7. I set mine to full stiffness front and rear and went out for a ride this evening, did about 30 miles I suppose and was quite surprised. It did begin to annoy me abit after a while but it still drove really well. When I had the AVO's fitted to my fiesta, when set to full stiffness it was like driving a brick, really harsh ride.
  8. lol, we're gonna have to call ya P.Binny from now on
  9. VRmonster, right my car is now tracked and cambered correctly and all I can say I am sooo glad I have put the FK's on! My car is now enjoyable to drive, still ain't set it up properly, gotta play with the damper stiffness and drop it anoth 10mm or so, but the ride at dinner time and on the way home tonight was brill.

    VR6 Vs BMW M3

Given the chance, i'd get one!
  11. Steve, i'll be there mate, me suspension is done now so she doesn't look like a monster truck anymore, sweet :-)
  12. Cheers matey, no I have never removed suspension before. As it was I took my life into my hands and marched on regardless. I had inadvertanly bought the thinner nut from vw so no removal from the old strut was required, result! I took the big nut off the new fk's firstly using spring compressors, but finding out that there ain't that much bang in em, I didn't bother with the second one, (still got enough fingers to hold a pint with tonight 8o) ,) I fitted the new top mount, new bearing and new thinner nut, its called a threaded bush by VW, incedently. Whacked the whole lot back on the car a
  13. Logout, what an idiot I am, cheers Pete :-)
  14. Ok just going to fit the fronts and the konigsports have got a nut and washer on which makes the top mount and bearing sit much higher up. If I remove the nut the springs will be held on by the bearing mount and thinner nut removed from old springs is tjis right? Cheers
  15. Yup, will defo get it tracked and aligned proffesionally, just curious mainly due to the comment in the guide Justin posted as mentioned earlier :-)
  16. Yeah mate, nothing better than showing off your car. Especially when people take note and comment on em. I used to luv my festa for that, you don't see many RS1800's about, loads of people used to comment on it, I had people offer me money for it, even now, with it being written off 7 months ago, my local garage asks me about it.
  17. Don't know mate, ain't been to one yet! Met a few of the lads when I went to Inters and they seem a good bunch, also made an appearance on the web site, and again they all seem a friendly humerous lot, few of the peeps from here are members so its like one big happy family really.
  18. Was gonna do this anyway, needs to be set up properly, but i'm sure i've seen acf8181 talk about how he likes the camber set, not sure if he does it himself tho? I'd guess that to get them pretty even when doing it you either pull the strut away from the car as much as possible on both sides, or push into the car as much as possible on both sides, or equally, try and get them in the middle? :?
  19. No worries, we know who you are, nice to have your own identity tho :-)
  20. I'm very sorry to hear of your loss Paula, I lost my Nan to cancer quite a few years back so I have no hesiation in helping you raise funds for this worthwhile cause. Jonathan !heart
  21. Following on from my England thread in the general section, Tracey Drafz wants her own loggin name, but you can't set up a new name or login as someone else once you are logged in, (unless i'm mistaken) Ie, her computer always logs on as apd. Can anything be done to sort this, cheers Pete
  22. Not sure mate, I saw a review of loads of new ones recently, I believe the road angel came out tops.
