  1. Think you can bolt a 2.9 bottom end on new for £800 ish. Gearbox option sounds very interesting.
  2. Jules - would be interested to know your developing opinion on the vibratechnics mount as I was considering if one was worth while.
  3. Vento VR6 - could be a dodgy ignition switch at a guess.
  4. They do look very good on Mk3's in my opinion. If its not too much of a rude question, how much did they set you back?
  5. Remus make sports cats. (Not to mention very nice exhausts)
  6. You think yours are bad? My other half has smoked twin Hella's on her's which are also PAINTED! They do not even reach the level of candle power!
  7. I too would have guessed at the fuel pump relay, other than that I am not sure. Hope you find a cure soon
  8. I would agree that it is just the action of the relay that you are hearing. Nothing to worry about in my opinion.
  9. Welcome Dr eViL, to the lair of evil VR6's .... wahhhh wahhhh! Sorry i had to say that. :-)
  10. Welcome to the gang. My oil temp on a run varies betwee. 98-104, although I have seen it once or twice go as high as 108. Hope you enjoy the car.
  11. Typical low speed town driving produces 18-22 mpg. The 200 mile round trip to Stealth was just under 30 mpg as something like a 62mph average. (Big mistake stopping at the services to have a burger on the way home, the traffic was appalling when we left)
  12. VR6's were specified to run better on Super unleaded petrol. I use Optimax, but give the others a go and see what you find best. As for oil, don't ask me, I am using far too much of it! :-(
  13. Come on Pete I have said this before, but its time for a forum poll of what colour is your VR. Dragon Green should win by a mile! :-)
  14. We had a good afternoon. Just about thawed out now! :-) A lot of quailty cars present. Shame I did not get to chat to a few more of you, but there is always the next meet up. (I was the one in the rather loud orange fleece by the way) Well done Pete.
  15. When I first got my car, I tried to insure it with Admiral, all was ok until I told them the car had an upper strut brace and they told me to go find another insurer there and then!
  16. Bought some Bonrath ones @ GTi International last year. The quality is superb and (touch wood) no signs of corrosion at all. Well worth the £30 i paid. The bonnet sits fine and they are extremely strong. They were a bit awkward to fit as the screw thread for the wing fixing did not start off properly, as little filing later and job done.
  17. I think you will find the exhaust manifold routing is different? Think its to do with the steering column?
  18. Ben, disposal charges are quite common. The dealership I worked at was charging them 3 years ago.
  19. I have a faulty speed sensor. It causes naff all problems on my car. Spoke to Vince @ Stealth and he says he has seen loads and not to worry about it.
  20. Pete you are the man. I've really enjoyed the site since i joined in December.
  21. Same problem with mine. The light comes on every now and again then not for weeks. It stores in the memory as a sporadic pump fault. ABS still works, keep my fingers crossed it lasts a good while longer.
  22. On the factory BBS its on the front of the wheel. ET43 springs to mind from yesterdays cleaning session.
