Very nice indeed. Makes me very envious when I look down the side of our house at the wreck of my Oak Green 16v. :-(
-
The look is spot on. Nice going.

I've not been on since just after your mishap at the 'ring. Really glad to see you back on the road with a VR. Glad your old car went to some good use. Enjoy!

dr_slian / Ian - Tell you what would be fantastic and that would be for you to share your plans with the show going public as they progress? That way you could get some feedback before the event? I for one would be interested. People say you could not get bargains from the traders. I know for certain that I saved a few quid on the bits that I bought. :-) Food - If you don't like it, don't buy it and take your own. The other half and I do, as we know its never cheap. The bonus side is it leaves you more money to spend on bits! People moan every year, but they never think to take something with

Yokohamas or Avons (or shop around for another make)?
VR6Steve replied to Toby's topic in General Chat
My other half has Avon ZV3's (?) on her Polo G40 and hates them. I had a similar model on my standard VR wheels and don't think much of them either. In fact they actually went out of shape and had to be replaced. The standard 15's now run BF Goodrich's and I quite like the handling etc. My TT Comps have Pirelli P-Zero Nero's on. Only been on a few weeks, but they seem ok. Just need to turn the key in the shocks to a stiffer setting before I give it a real good go. -
Very nice, Dragon Green is THE best colour :-)

Absolutely lovin' it. -
project terminated by mondeo driver who couldnt!
VR6Steve replied to dubloke's topic in General Chat
Matt - just be glad you were in a golf and not some tin box piece of rubbish. Hope the driver of the Mondeo gets kicked by the law as he duly deserves. Get well soon. You could do worse while you are laid up than to plan your next project, as it looks like the Mk4 was coming along quite nicely. -
Just bought this for the misses....

If you feel the urge to spend more money on it, I believe Pitstop Developments / G-Werks have already done some tuning work in the Cooper S. (6) -
Well my story started back in '92 when the first Golf VR's came on to the market. I was about 20 ish and working on service reception in a VW dealer (actually it was definitely a STEALER!). The boss had himself a brand new J plate demo. I think I was allowed to move it a few feet one day and that was it me smitten! You got an instant sense of the power. Then about 4 years ago a mate that works at an Audi dealer took in a dragon green 3 door with decent history for a very fair price. She has been with me ever since being very slowly modded. :-) Steve

Very nice job and a vast improvement. Looks loads better without the rust too! :-) Why are Mk3's so prone to it? Mines the same. :-(

As many people seem to regard the old TRL venue as the best place for Inters, may be a return to complete hard standing may rekindle some of that fondness and nostalgia?
-
Shane - Thanks for the feedback from the organisational side of the event. Bruntingthorpe is such a huge venue that I gues it could be difficult to work out the best way to use the space. Is the runway not big enough to accomodate the show and parking? Hard standing for everyone? Goodies and food for sale round the edge and club stands/show & shine in the middle. Steve

Fitting a strut brace on with aircon (mk3 vr6)
VR6Steve replied to OEM+'s topic in Bodywork and Styling
As Rich above, mine has the pipe pulled forward a bit and the secured to the brace. It was already on the car when I bought it about 4 years ago and not problems at all. -
On the whole it was a good show given the weather and circumstances that caused. I think the layout needs to be juggled up a bit. Some of the club stands are so far out it seems most people don't bother to go and look. How about mixing in the clubs, auto jumble, stalls and food in together? On this occassion it was a shame that the vast amount of concrete was not used fully. You spent half the weekend trying to stand up while walking round on the grass rather than enjoying the show to the full. The really annoying thing for us was the entry on Sunday. We ordered and paid for our tickets in ad

Good luck Pete and thanks for starting www . VR6 GOLF . co . uk all that time ago. My VR still has that sticker in :-) I can hear that pile of bits in the garage calling and asking to be put in to a Mk2. You know it makes sense! All the best. Steve

Very nice indeed. Love the Mk2. Bought smoked indicators, repeaters and crystal smoked rears for mine. Make a huge difference don't they. Now on the hunt for smoked cross hairs to complete the revamp. :-)
-
Those Borbets (with the flat caps) are truly awesome wheels for a Mk2. Work very well in my opinion. :-)

As nick_s has said above. I heard about this site on another forum. Apparently there is a full parts list on there somewhere?? www.mk2vr6.com

Just been on eBay, only found 1 set with a starting bid of £300. B19VEW - don't be disappointed by the price I paid (2 years ago) as they were mashed and have had a full refurb to new for another £250 and they had the original TT tyres on which were too big. They are still not on the car as I have never quite has the spare cash to get the tyres! :-(
-
Keep your eye on eBay for the TT Comps and forum classifides. That's where I got mine for £225. They came of a wrecked TT and have been refurbed to as good as new. As for the other bits try C&R Enterprises, GSF, Eurocarparts, Tuning Werkes, Big Boys Toys, Awesome GTi or Vemon Motorsport to name but a few.

Very nice indeed. :-) -
Weitec GT kit from C&R Enterprises (non damping adjustable). Its lowered 30mm and quite comfortable. Think its around the £250 mark.
