  1. Hi Mike, I have sometimes thought of maybe getting a MK4 Turbo, next after my Highline. I guess by the sounds of it that I am better off sticking with what I've got? Is the VR a much better car then? Cheers Jon 8o) [ golfvr6011evensmaller.jpg ]
  2. In relation to this thread, I got an e-mail from Auto Trader warning about this scam! Looks like it is happening all over the place! %-6 SCAM WARNING TO CAR BUYERS We've been alerted by a number of customers to a scam affecting UK car buyers. The fraud involves a bogus buyer that contacts you with a view to buy your vehicle unseen to export it abroad. They'll send you a cheque for the asking price, plus the cost of export and you're asked to wire money back to them to cover export costs. The cheque they've sent bounces, leaving you without a car and out of pocket. Visit our Car Crime Cent

  7. Bought the Highline nearly 2 years ago with 44K FSH for £8,000. Alloys, Hella Twinheadlights, Lexus Taillights, Dual Exit Exhaust, Kamei Grille, Side Repeaters, Induction Kit, Sony Stereo, Gear Knob, Doorpins, Tax Disc Holder, Suspension = Just Under £1,500. Jeez, until now didn't realise how much I had spent. Thats a lot of money to leave lying around in car parks unattended! [ golfvr6011evensmaller.jpg ] [ Edited Wed Mar 03 2004, 07:53AM ]

  10. Well Thanks for the feedback. My mate has a VR6 Highline 'P' reg, as well and only buzzes when the engine is off. Oh well, I'll just have to put up with it for the time being! !amazed
  11. I know that when you open drivers door (engine off) and leave your lights on that the buzzer will go off. But my problem is that when the engine is running, and I open the drivers door with the lights on that the buzzer still goes off. I know that this is not normal, (I also checked it against my mate's VR, which only goes off when the engine is not running). Do I need to change my buzzer switch? Any suggestions will be much appreciated! Cheers Jon:) [ golfvr6025smaller.jpg ]

  14. quote Amit - where did you get the 'elton john' style gear knob from?. (no offense.......i just thought of him, as soon i saw it. Please forgive me. Amit, if I was you I wouldn't worry about blowing people away at the lights, with that automatic gear knob looking like a 'TNT Detonator', you'll be abe to blow up all the cars round you at the lights (including the fastest Scoobies and M3s that exist on the planet). You'll be the quickest from the lights everytime. You want to look into buying TNT, not a Supercharger. No offence Grandad! Please forgive me. TOOSHAY!!! [ Edited Sat Jan 24 2004, 01:
  15. Or worse, 'I'm keeping the car and I have fell in love with the man who is my mechanic, it all started when he was bending over and inspecting my big fat throbbing one'! [ golfvr6011smaller.jpg ]
  16. I'm with Elephant! That is with modifications declared. I found them very reasonable in price and also able to drive any other (with owners permission) vehicle, on the policy! [ golfvr6011smaller.jpg ]

  18. Not sure why my picture is coming up! It normally does!
  19. Hi, I from Crawley, Sussex and there is similar car to mine in the town and its 'D6 EES'. My mate knows of him (who also has a purple highline). It stands for D GEES. Is that the one? Cheers 8o)
  20. I find that if you stand a regular sized can in the centre console under the ashtray, that the can stays in place. You have to drink some of it first, as the can stands at an angle, but if the can is half full, it seems not to spill. Shame that the section is not slightly taller to fit beer cans in! 21. TopgunVR6, I'm not far from you - Crawley, Sussex! [ golf_vr6_025smaller.jpg ]
  22. I pay £510 with 7 years NCB with all mods (17's, zorst, front & rear lights and Kamei grille) declared at 28 years old with my 27 year old Mrs also on the policy! This is fully protected, with Elephant.co.uk! Not bad at all, especially after I had been with Tesco beforehand and they wanted £700 + without mods. The thing is with these insurance companies, they give you a cracking deal the first year to get the custom, then assume you'll carry the policy the following year so seem to increase the price of the policy. I always shop around from one year to the next! [ golf_vr6_025smaller.jpg
