  1. whose is that? whoevers it is i have a spare speed sensor.
  2. well, believe me you'll find it hard to make yourself brake late enough on track at first! its crazy how late you can brake, but once you get it dialed its really easy for some reason. i'd say that was the hardest thing to learn, for me anyway.
  3. ROFLMAO, i can picture it now!
  4. if only it was a 3 dr red one... http://www.edition38.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=4041 [ Edited ]
  5. spent a bit of time in a highline this weekend...mega slippy, and no shoulder support.
  6. you have PM chris, with some pics and links. but in case anyone else is after recaros, i just kept looking at ebay every few days and edition 38 auto jumble/pvwmag classifieds every day (if they come up on those you have to get them the day the ad comes out or someone will beat you to it)
  7. yep' date=' very good mr. eat this, ten points for you. the recaros were available as an option, but i added mine (best mod i've done i think). yep, they are very good, but don't forget to tell your dad that i'd like to help develope them further if he wants!
  8. i reckon stick with standard vw one, they're only £80 new.
  9. well, depends on if you prefer colth or leather, and how much you wanna spend... should get standard vr6/gti cloth for £50-100, vr6 leather for £500-650, cloth recaros for under £350, and leather colour concept recaros will be up toward £1k. my opinion? cloth recaros. the normal sports seats (so vr6 leather and cloth) are really unsupportive in the shoulder area. really is uncomfy on a long journey (such as to the 'ring). heres mine, which i flukely got for £120...
  10. cleaned it today and had a mates digi cam so thought i'd take a few up to date pics of it... what you think? just to remind people of the spec... vibratech engine mounts (comp front, FR rear and g.box), bilstein sprintline '40mm kit, powerflex rear beam and front wishbone bushes, 2.1 degrees of negative camber with zero toe, bonrath 3 slat debadged grill, bbs solitudes alloys with uniroyal rallye 540 rubber, pagid FR pads all round, early mkIII cloth recaros, momo millenium steering wheel with 50mm spacer, polo 9n (mkVI) gearknob, audi TT LHD pedal covers.
  11. i dunno...when i've been on track i find i drive slower on the road as it is just crap in comparison. although i do have a nasty habbit of still being in 'race' mode whenh i get onto the a43 (braking for the roundabouts very late form high speed! lol) doing proper race tiotion does in prove your road skills loads..after i finished my course i could tell i was looking sooo much further ahead. money well spent thats for sure.
  12. i've spent 5 full days at SRS
  13. i reckon a 3 slat debadged grill actually. they look better when colour coded IMO.
  14. you won't need an uprated clutch unless you're gonna run silly power...in which case everyone uses helix. the standard clutch is pretty damn good as it is.
  15. do you remember who your instructor was mark? what cars were you using on skid pan...fwd mondeo or a caterham or single seater with slicks on front and remoulds on rear?
  16. yeah, i got one, and one of rattling timing chains....but cant post them either!
  17. mine has the scorpion factory fitted alarm, theres no documentation with my service history to suggest that its cat 1 approved. but i have a cat 2 immob as well.
  18. nah, just get a set from vw (but make sure they're the red ones - they do two and the cheaper black ones arent as good quality). prob with aftermarket leads is they tend to be too fat for the lead guides, so the little notches on the guides cut into them and damage them. plus they may not work with the lead removal tool.
  19. what silverstone lessons mark?
  20. well, theres stealth racing nearish to bandury i think, or automotive solutions in sonning near reading...but both are prob a bit far.
  21. i've seen on some site that the bhp to weight of the S3 is 160bhp/ton, and the vr6 is 140bhp.ton...but thats worked out from official bhp figures...so 174bhp for the vr6, and we all know vr6's tend to be a bit more than that. i'm pretty sure both cars are nigh on even...so it'll come down to the drivers. 22. you should be able to keep up with him, but you'll have to drive the wheels off the mkIII. my mate has a 225bhp S3, which is basically the same car, they weigh a fair bit more than the mkIII, and the 4wd ain't very good (its haldex not permanent 4wd). if the guys an avergae driver it should be very easy for you, if he can half drive it will be tougher, but as long as theres no long corners (which is where the 4wd and ESP really help) you should be able to keep up no probs.
