  2. hydrolic lifters mate..... had mine replaced a few weeks ago.... really noisey when cold before they were done.
  3. what happens when the VAG-COM went on it after you had other sensor replaced? the wiring that goes to the sensors may of deteriated ?

    i was at 14MPH tonday. but i was touchin 150on my speedometer. normal driving on motor way's it's 28 - 32MPG and around town/traffice jams, i dont bother looking

  12. ive seen examples of these "£50" chips on the TDI models. the RR graphs were all over the show..... pinking mid range, id stay WELL CLEAR mate!
  13. sounds abit like mine. ball joints in my steering colum have worn. causing excessing movments in various directions. bad news is that each ball joint is over £100 each! upper and lower.

  15. well, it's now fixed and what a pisser it is. Iv'e spent the best part of 200 quid on fan control module unit, sensors. regassing it and diagnostics. the red herrin in all of this is that it started to work at 94.5 degrees. today i replaced the radiator thermo switch just to rule that out (another 28 quid!) and in doing that I had to move the battery out of the way. what did i find? A broken terminal! another 30p later I connected it up and it all sprung back into life! I didnt know that the air con or what ever had more than 1 power feed! obvously it was getting power when the 2nd radiator f
  16. ive got GSF ones on mine and they are fine. the ride is fine, not harsh or anything. my old ones literally fell out ! Pete

  18. id imagine engine temperatue, thats what the VAG com told me anyway. ive bridged the pressure switch, ive replaced the fan control module unit. ive replaced all 3 sensors on my thermostat housing. Im about to replace my rad thermo switch tomorrow once my hose comes. there isnt much more it can be really. i dont appear to getting the various speeds on my radiator fan so it could be the fan switch. We will see. Had it gassed up twice now by 2 different companies to see if it was incorrectly gassed. it's very odd to say the least! all the voltage comin from various components are reading fine!
  19. It continues! Ok, here's a little more info for you. at 94.5 degrees the air con switches on. at 91.5 degrees the air con switches off! along with my radiator fans. What happens to various components in the car at them temperatures? Regards Pete [ Edited ]
