Macca 1
Sorry to hear that mate, take it you are ok (physically). I voted for put it all in a mk2, how about in a mk1 tho?Spose it depends how mashed the car is.......
yeeha 0
Sh!t mate, unlucky what happened by the way?...Stick the engine into an old mini, end of story... lmfao.
eViL 0
I think there'd be handling problems in a Mk1 due to the sheer weight of the engine.I'd love to drop it all into a Mk4 polo but it'd have the same problems as a Mk1 conversion.
eViL 0
I went a bit too quick (110mph coming out of 3rd).Thought I was on a nice long stretch of road, but I wasn't.. there was a roundabout just off to the left (right out of view)Hit the kerbed roundabout at about 50-60mph, through the bushes and got stuck in the mud.Damage - Front Wheels totalled, Offside Wishbone bent, Roll Bar Linkage broken, Off side Drive shaft bent, Broken Headlight (MK4 ones too), broken Indicator (crystal), some more plastic bits.It really isn't that bad considering the speed I was going, before I even touched the brakes I knew I wasn't going to stop in time.My own fault.. but whenever you plant your foot to the floor you are taking risks.. this time I came a cropper! ingham 5
shit happens ,as long as your ok and police are not aware, cars can be replaced!.
just2zang 0
sorry to hear that man, u just gave me a nasty image.. is the roof dinked?. i.e. can u salvage the motor? might be an idea to fix it and return the car to standard taking the charger and other goodies off. sell it and start again. maybe with an r32 engine, 6 speed box or 1.8t in a mk2. just2zang 0
seriously though if your shell is bent i know where u can get a straight vr6 that has almost fuk all mileage, but no interior at all (including dash), no door locks or wheels, and blue paint is all scratched. antera309 3
Whack all the running gear into a Mk3 cab, then get it resprayed in a mental metalflake/pearlescent.Instant magazine feature car, I reckon.
eViL 0
Think I'm gonna just pop it all back together for the short term and keep an eye out for a cheap, high mileage cabby. Also looked at an Audi Coupe Quattro but I dunno if the engine'll fit..[ Edited Fri May 14 2004, 02:59PM ]
acf8181 0
damage doesn't sound that bad, really not worth destroying the car for.have you uprated arb's/bushes...may as well replace the damaged bits with better stuff where ever possible.
