MaidenVR6 26
Your British Helix would have a 6puck sprung disc and plate I will asume. Clutchnet red pp and 6puck spring is a cheap setup that seems to hold the VRT torque fine under 20 psi. The UM software would be spot on. The GT35R T3 1.06 is a turbo that i personally have and I love it. Matt @ UM knows what he is doing. He shares a lot off good info and provides good service. Fishwick's outburst is unnecessary and do not lead to anything. And I will say that a T3 0.82 GT35R is in the tight end off the scale. It might work when playing around @ 15psi.. matty.vrt 120
Sorry to correct, but uk helix 02a is 4 puck clutch and 02m is a 5 puck I know because I have/had both. Also I have garrett GT3582r with 0.82AR and can say it is a really good turbo currently run up to 25psi at the minute, loving the results.
Poriordan 97
Ok thanks started to look and buy parts will do a build thread eventually lol I've ordered a cast iron manifold and 38mm external waste gate so far the rest is to follow thanks for all the help so far
Dave_ciw 507
Pics of the manifold? I have just purchased mine and it seems to be a LHD one! also keeps the turbo level rather than below so it seems either I change it or go Short Runner!!
vr6guy 29
I bought turbo running gear a while back and think it has exhaust manifold off ebay, t3/4 turbo. Intercooler pipes of ebay for £80, waste gate and 440 green injectors. Makes 300 bhp and 300 torque at 7 psi standard internals and fuel pump as well. I would advise to get better brakes and uprated clutch though!
Poriordan 97
Ok brought a few parts from the never ending list but now I'm after a in tank fuel pump that's up to the job any ideas not looking to run a bosch 044 as they are supposed to be very noisy any ideas welcome thanks
VIW28 29
044 is a good pump though and if you use it in a surge tank it's not at all noisy.
Poriordan 97
Ok fair enough everyone's seems to use that just diddnt know if there were in tank options cheers
matty.vrt 120
Yes there is intank options for example I've had Walbro 255 and now 455 the 255 is good for 500bhp and the 455 for 1000bhp both fit in you standard tank swirl pot and cost around £100.
matty.vrt 120
I have 044 and 2L swirl pot in my garage took it off because it is too noisy.
VIW28 29
Suppose it depends on what swirl pot/surge tank you're using and where it is mounted plus how deaf you are.
UnitedMotorsport 55
Suppose it depends on what swirl pot/surge tank you're using and where it is mounted plus how deaf you are."WHUT?"

Poriordan 97
Lol I'm gonna go with the walbro intank option then is there a perticular walbro kit I need or will it be any walbro 255 pump straight into the tank thanks I know I'm asking some novice question so bare with me
matty.vrt 120
Just a universal kit of eBay should suffice.
VR6Pete 1,455
Carful on eBay though. Plenty of fakes!
Poriordan 97
Ok ill be carful who I buy from my spacer gasket had arrived and I'm very happy with it just waiting on the arrival of the tial 38mm external waste gate from America
Poriordan 97
Quick question on the software side of things if I buy a 95mm maf housing do I then buy a chip from um and that will be ok to run the turbo also what psi do I run thanks in advance
Daverse 175
Run what psi you want!! Depends how much power you want.
Poriordan 97
Ok what psi is safe to run on standard pistons and con rods with arp bolts and also still unsure on software is it just plug in and away you go thanks
matty.vrt 120
I used c2 motorsports 630cc file standard pistons, rods, spacer plate 8.5:1 no Arp bolts 24psi making over 500bhp no issues 3 years down the line.
michael5556 247
No arp bolts? With 24 psi? I must of gone overkill.
Daverse 175
350 bhp is what is what i'd put on standard pistons before looking at forged, but it more depends on how well setup your fuelling is.
Poriordan 97
Wow 500 bhp on standard bottom end these engines are capable of serious bhp then what fuel setup did u run mate and u say ur still running it now with no issues
