richierich37 236 Posted November 11, 2010 Author Report Share Posted November 11, 2010 i'm on an update mission! ha ha ha all my welding is finished and have painted the underside with underseal......................now off the roller/jig and back on its wheels.........just started the prepping for paint!some photos of the completed works if your interested!!!! (h)cab floor repair...............both front arches replaced...............all chassis metal replaced, out riggers, top hat and "i" beam sections....................cargo floor replaced.................full inner and outer sill replaced.................covered all mechanical componants with paper and masking tape..............half undersealed..................new underseal..................now onto my front window repairs.................new repair section welded in................and finally back on its wheels........................narrowedness!!!!!!!!! richierich37 236 Posted January 5, 2011 Author Report Share Posted January 5, 2011 a wee update..............this paint prepping takes ages!!been working on the inside filling and sanding to get a finish............front hit with the da sander thing to see the damage............new bulkhead section blended in.............new floor section blended in............tub area sanded............m code plate, tells a story!!!!!some outside filling has taken place and will update when can.........its not a lot but any progress is good progress!more sanding, then scotchied the full inside and masked stuff off ready for primer/painting!.............i have decided to get my front and rear bumper powdercoated also my hurst bumper/bar and vw badge..........hurst bar..........bumpers before...........front badge, already powdercoated but going for a colour change!!!!!.......looking forward to getting my metal back from the powdercoater already..........only dropped it off this morning!!!!! lolcheers.......... (h)what knowledge do you wish you had?........ as all this work except the welding has been completed by me...............a total novice with no body/metal work knoledge or experiance whatsoever! 8-|its pretty much common sense although the welding is tricky thus i'm leaving it to my mates!
