These Wheels Are Driving Me Mad !
Bealieboy replied to VR6DEN's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
215/40 would be my personal preference den. Still stretched but not excessively. Especially being auto, you'll be carrying a little extra kerbweight, make sure they're strong on the sidewall. -
are you on eBay? I spotted one on there in the last couple of days. If I spot it I'll post a link.

These Wheels Are Driving Me Mad !
Bealieboy replied to VR6DEN's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Hi den, will you clear the caliper with 10mm spacers? With those fitted it will give et 20. You will need stretch tyres den. I know you've got tyres, 205/45/16? What is the speed and wall rating on them? 81v's, 87w's or what? Reason for asking is that you don't want too soft tyre wall if you're to stretch a 205 onto a 9" rim. I'm not a tyre expert, this info is just from my limited knowledge and personal preference regards to safety. -
16" 8 and 9j rims and offset ?
Bealieboy replied to redvr6_girl's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
I think the correct offset for the golf is et 35-45. You can get that info from one of the car wheel fitment guides on line. -
Good work cooz! How did you get on with the s/c?
-
No cabbs, I'm carefully replacing parts from the ground up. Very little of the car will be left untouched this year. Yes wheels will go on and Also new wings and tailgate too
-
new wishbones with r32 bushes, new track rod ends, new drilled and grooved discs all round and new pads on the back. New rocker gasket plus leather door cards and black abc's. [emoji41]

Bealieboy replied to redvr6_girl's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
The higher the offset number the bigger the spacer you use. I think you can go up to et15 and the wheel would still sit right but you would need stretched tyres. You will have to bear in mind both rim width and offset when choosing your tyres and spacers. -
Cheers cabbs, I'll bear those in mind. Just booked the car in with ben for next Saturday so all the bits I've collected will be going on! [emoji57]

Yes, I asked God to excuse me for that Sunday due to the club of the vr6 owners are to rolleth the road at stealth. He gave us his blessing apart from, there should be no opening the gates of hell on the rolleth road for me! [emoji83] -
Sorry, my bad! Surf green is the colour of my old 8v. I just googled some pics. :-)
-
Yeah, I had an electric green gti 8v with full leather interior. Mine was a 95 m reg. yours has Defo had an engine swap in that case. There should be a sticker on the boot floor under the luggage mat with some numbers and letters. If you post them on here, we should be able to see what the engine code is and paint code too. [emoji106]
-
Welcome to the club! Get some pics up fella, it sounds interesting. Certainly doesn't sound like a vr6 colour, My first thoughts are electric green gti converted to vr6.

This will be highly amusing, travelling with 2 potentially saddened Vr owners due to potential rain. I don't think country file weather report can see that far into the future so I can't tell you what's forecast for that day. Still, we could always look on the bright side eh! [emoji23] -

120 miles for me. [emoji57] -
Look out for a used one paular, I'm pretty sure a golf 1.8t fits too. Looking at serial numbers prior to buying my used one I noticed vr6 and 1.8t have the same 85/150 designation but the latter has an adapter to fit onto the 1.8t maf. I'm 99.9% sure that is removable and therefore becomes suitable for the vr6. You'll also need an 82mm diameter silicone pipe to go from your maf to the bmc, easily sourced from eBay!
-
I've seen some used schrick 278's on eBay at £500 or offers near to. I thought they were too much dollar, now I'm sure after clicking the link!
-
Pm to Mistline, he'll give you a very current opinion! [emoji2]
-
Sorry but I have to agree with calico. I really like the Bmc noise, it's quite addictive! If you're buying new or used, just make sure it's a 85/150 type bmc.

Here's a turn up for the club, I and a few members in the essex, saaaf laandaan and Hertfordshire area decided we ought to do something in the way of getting together. So the date is set for Sunday 22nd of feb 2015, the location as yet is unknown but it will involve a bit of a blat and a pit stop in as suitably decent beverage serving establishment. This offer also extends to the surrounding counties and cities. So far on the list we have: Bennyk Mistline Redvr6-girl Denvr6 Djmadman Bealieboy Ssaunders If anyone else fancies a trip out, please let us know via adding yourself to the list or
