Yeh they look in good condition. I take it their all straight with no buckles. How wide are the spacers and did you have to modify the arches to get them on. Silly question,,,,,, I take it their is 4 wheels for sale, just in the pic their 3.

Yes, 5x100 to 5x130 spacers are all you need although they're quite expensive. I might have these wheels with tyres and spacers for sale in the not too distant future.

Gilly17 reacted to alfy in I love my VR6, 8 years of ownership
Hi
I have not been on here for years. I have also not drove my Vr6 for over six months since I bought a new car(2008 R32).
I Bought the VR6 on Feb 2006 with 55000 miles on the clock. It now has 130000 miles with 24000 done last year alone:-(
I would not call it a car it is more it is more a part of me or an only child of mine.
No mater what is going on the car has never let me down in 8 years, never broke down in 8 years. I can leave It parked up for months at a time jump the battery and of she goes. it still has the original clutch, timing chain etc. The interior has held well too.
It kind of reminds me of a tank as it seams unstoppable.
I do not see the point in selling it as it is worth more to me than the small amount of money I would get for it. sadly the rust has started to take over and the two rear arches, fuel filler neck, front wings need repaired. I will however get this completed over the next year.
Over the years the car likes to consume:
Too much fuel to think about
Rear wheel bearings
Coil packs and ignition leads
CV gaiters
Rear brake pipes
you get quite used to the faults and just drive into the garage and tell them what's wrong without wasting investigation money
Apart from that it has been a fantastic car.
After a few years of ownership it became apparent that buying non VW parts was a waste of time and money as they never last.
so one tip is to buy genuine parts and get it serviced every year.
I can also give you a long term review on the following:-
jetex full exhaust system: Sounds amazing and made a real difference to the noise, I am not sure if it helped power but the extra noise sounded like it did so that was good enough for me. After being on the car for 7 years it is still in mint condition and I have had no problems with it.
BMC CDA induction kit: Again sounds absolutely amazing and I have had no problems over the last 7 years.
KW lowering springs and shocks: this was not the coil over but springs and shocks. After driving around in what felt like a boat I upgraded to these and put on new polly bush suspension kit at the same time. what a difference this made and that was 7 years ago, the car still feels good today.
Hella Cellius headlights: again no problems with these and made a big difference over the standard lights(and they are very rare).
I was never one for speaking on the VR6 forum but I did however gain a lot of useful help and information on here, so thanks VR6OC.
long live the VR6!!!

Gilly17 got a reaction from MJ Vr6 in pcv pipe after maf, whats people used to cap it?
Put a catch can on mine. Found in difficult to find a good place for it. Ended up putting it on the inner wing next to the air filter. Bit of messing about with hose reducers and 90 bends. But manage to do it.

A members photo gallery site.
Buy and sell vr6 parts. Make a small comission on sales like ebay. Only 1% kinda thing.

Took the inlet manifold off and rocker cover to have a go at polishing them up for that mirrored look.
Bit of elbow grease, sandpaper, polish and a few hours and look what happened( great sense of achievement )
Oh and the none return value on the breather fell to bits when I took it off

Gilly17 reacted to EJTaylor in Recommended oil/ spark plugs?
I run a high spec 314bhp SC VR6
As the tag im just trying to get a feedback from a variety of owners on what plugs/oil is best.
Ive ran iridium on all previous cars to great results but many say the forced induction vrs prefer the standard bosch ones from the 1.8 bam engine and types.
Same with oil, ive always ran 5-30 on the vr, but vince at stealth and a few others say that a thicker 10-40 is better, its hard to know.
As much feedback and as many opinions as possible would be great!
Many thanks!

Gilly17 got a reaction from bennyk in Gillys vr6
Hi everybody, I have been lurking about on here since September that is when I bought my first vr6. It's dragon green with 142000 on the clock, an old lady had owned it for the past 16 years with vw service history up to 10000. This is it when I first bought.
Since then I've had the bonnet painted, new wheel bearing front and back and new starter motor.
I've bought the car as a hobby, something to tinker about with in the garage. I work long hours and spend time with the family at weekend. I really enjoy spending a few hours a night playing about with it. So I thought it was about Time I started a build thread.
