  1. Cv joint possibly? The wheel isn't catching is it, could be one of many things.
  2. What bout a head torch I have one I bought off snapon and its brilliant.
  3. I think it just needs a good run out I haven't had the time or funds so it has been sat on storage for over a year.
  4. I managed to get a door in the back of a 3 door corsa with the rear seats down.
  5. I got her out of storage earlier and blew the cobwebs off. Started first time with a boost pack but didn't sound too good running its off a cylinder and ticking coming from the gearbox end of the engine.
  6. Will be rebuilding my obd1 engine ready for a spacer plate and turbo setup. Have been reading a lot about how the obd2 timing chain setup is far superior to the obd1. Can I just replace the obd1 chain with the updated parts from the obd2.
  7. Yeah but the engine will be mounted length ways and rwd. Might be bit pushed for room with standard box and fwd setup
  8. I'm sure you could find some gearbox to fit maybe an adapted bmw one. I may have to ask the gearbox specialist we use at work. I always wanted to build my own kit car the ridiculous power to weight ratio really has my interest. Anything is possible with the right amount of money and know how.
  9. There is a guy on here who put one in a buggy frame. Not sure about the Westfield or caterham have seen a few close up and it looked tight in there with a 4pot. But I have seen a few of Dax built cars running v8s might be worth looking into. Think your going to have look more into the cobra style of body as apposed to the lotus seven style.

  11. He can have the bumper for free and I'm pretty sure I have enough paint laying around to do it would just have to pay a couple of quid to get it sprayed. I would have had a go at it myself but I now work 7 days a week so don't have time.
  12. I'm sure I have on laying about the workshop somewhere not sure on the colour it's a dark purple if I remember correctly. I was going to paint it mystic blue and stick it on mine but decided I want to keep my trims. If you can't find one local drop me a pm and we could sort something out, I could even get it painted cheap for you if needs be.
  13. yeah I have started a second job to help build my funds up but I now work weekends so not sure if I can get the time off to go yet. I would hate to cancel last minute cos I had to work and leave a space.

  15. Don't think I got it because mine is already coil pack. Will see if I can dig it out of the garage it's buried deep somewhere under my interior and turbo bits.
  16. I paid 100 for my obd swap I got ecu, wiring harness throttle body maf lambda basically everything except the manifold.
  17. I have heard a few people say obd2 makes a few more bhp but not sure. It has a lot more control options which makes it the better choice to run a turbo setup with. I haven't actually fitted mine yet due to not having the time and space to do it. from what I have heard its all just a straight swap. When I do get chance to get mine swapped over will be fitting a spacer gasket and turbo manifold so half of the engine bay will be coming out anyway.
  18. Might be easier for you to get full engine conversion as yours has a dizzy but mine is the late obd1 with coil pack. The. Once you have done the swap recoup some money back selling the obd1 setup.
  19. I got a full conversion without the manifold cheap and had a relative with a spare manifold so worked out a lot cheaper for me to do it that way.

  21. yeah I will be using united motorsports they have an off the shelf setup for my build. I'm aiming for around 300hp anything more will be a bonus. If you email united motorsports they will give you advice on your setup and recommend which software to use. Also just send them your ecu and they will do the work for you with the socket imobiliser. I haven't had chance to see exactly what is involved with the harness. But when I finally get round to doing it (probably over winter) the full front end is coming off to make life a bit easier.
  22. I wouldn't know how much someone would charge to do the conversion as I will be doing mine myself once I have the rest of my turbo conversion. Just waiting on the funds for the last few bits and trying to make space at home to work on it. There are a few people on here that have either done the conversion or had it done for them.
  23. I haven't got round fitting mine but doing the obd swap myself. Mine might be easier as my obd1 is coilpack. Pretty much plug and play from what I have read and your parts list seems about right. You will have to get the new ecu imobiliser deleted, united motorsports will take care of that. If your going fi might aswell get the ecu socketed whilst its there so it can take a tuning chip.
  24. Wasn't there someone on here selling a v6 4 motion for 800. I know he didn't want to split but for that price could take what you want and sell the rest.
