Did it again this morning, barely made it to work after stopping at garage then restarting The only part of the cluster that dies is the Revometer, everything else stays fine Fiddled with ignition switch seem to make no difference I pulled over and everytime i revvd the car the relay clicked like mad an revs kept dropping sharply i think i really need to find out what relay is clicking as may give me some clues
Just had a brainwave on the electrical side. It's intermittent and quite random. Could it be a faulty ignition switch, worn contact playing up? I've also had a few puffs of smoke from steering console recently but hadn't linked the two???
Good point um, I can also hear a relay click on and off. I need to pay attention next time to if the whole cluster is dying or just dials. I'd have thought any electrical short shud throw a code. Definately another avenue to explore. Could it be the relay itself playing.up?
Right the cutting out kangaroos continues. Had new fuel filter an maf No fault codes. It seems now that this only ever happens from a hot start. Ie car been off for 10 mins or less. It will then try to stall, like a momentary loss of power. Rev an Speedo also die. Any clues or suggestions welcome, driving me mad now. So intermittent
Pleasantly surprised on the effects of cold air feed I ran down to the little grill.in the bumper. Sealed it to the entrance of the front of the air box. Basic effect.is it feels like driving in winter air all the time. Rather than being a slug everytime it's hot. Total cost £12 not the prettiest mod tho
I had a read up today. its apparantly at the discretion of the officer weather to follow the guidlines. But seeing as 90% of convictions come from machines with no sense of reason that goes out the window By what i read you can be prosecuted for 31 in a 30 if they really want too :S
i certainly think i will take the course if i have the option, however i think its a good few miles from me so itll be more like £100 extra by the time i add my fuel bill! best not get caught speeding on the journey either, thatd be pretty ironic!!!
Going up a steep hill on the A249 dual carriage way (Detling hill) its a 50mph zone and tbh i wasnt overly paying attention to the speedo as the car was pulling up the hill steadily around the trucks on the inside lane brow of the hill a dam speed camera, looked at speedo and i was at 60mph dumped foot on the break in a heart beat but if its a laser system then im pretty sure that wasnt quick enough I know its my own stupid fault but still gutting as i have 3 points that was due to run out next year :S
My water temp never goes over dead centre so seems to kick in around there. I think there is 3 plugs together one is blue. I'm sure someone on here will have an idea but I believe they are the temp senders. Have a quicksearch on forum there should be loads of info about it
On flip side I kept with a bmw 328 all the way this morning. He didn't look best pleased. So it seems there ain't that much wrong with the car. I think I need to run a proper cold air feed because in hot weather it seems to be a complete slug bucket
Nice. I had a mk2 golf.valver. 9a bottom end wur mod by Vince and a few bits I can't remember made 164 on rollers. Bloody thing was mental all the way to 7k :-) 10yrs ago an I still miss it now....nice vr tho :-)
I regularly go to horse shows so my car.often looks like I've been doing rally :-) I actually thing the mud trails along the side.look quite fetching ;-)
