To say I’m happy with the finish is an understatement. When I picked the colour asked on the fact the Skyline R34 GTR is a dream car of mine I never imagined it would look so good on the golf.

I know the guys at Dynodaze. They were at Hinckley next door to R-tech. R-tech have moved just up the road to Nuneaton but It's half a mile from the old place. I tbink Dynodaze stayed put. I've been up there a few times and there's always a good turn out.
If the club wanted a VR6 day I'm sure other clubs would join us on the day.

I am a mechanic and welder and get parts on trade but your right bloody bonkers lol

To be fair its in in remarkably good shape given the age. Plan is just to make it a very good standard example, currently having the rear arches replaced as a bit scabby and a full respray. Screen out as well due to leaking and a bit of rust. Overall though it's got minimal rust and has only had two owners from new. Debating mk3 anniversary rims but haven't decided as yet....

I remember seeing a dragon green one with a mere 2k miles on it and was on sale for £10k.

I've found another Golf VR6  I've sourced a black P-reg, 118k miles off ebay. I've bought blind so I hope it's not a wreck!!

I loved the sound of a Magnaflow catback I had on my old Mk3 VR6. Only problem was it was very heavy and kept banging under the car.
 
My current VR has a custom Longlfe which is just a pipe with the smallest silencer in it. It sounds OK but it's a bit boomy when accelerating. I lent it to my son to go on holiday with the kids and they all complained it was too loud!

I had a VR6 for 8yrs then sold it and got an R32 Mk4. I've now got another VR6 Highline which I've had for 3 yrs and I'm so glad to back in the little car I love.

Well that's a result then I have magnecor leads and recommend them. Had them for 8 years but they were originally off my mk3 so much older. I did send them off to magnecor for repair after they were damaged from my crash at the Nurburgring. They have been great since.

My mate bodged the broken HT lead for £1.50 so I'm up and running properly again. It seemed the last set were a bit short and therefore the lead was under tension which eventually snapped the nipple off.
 
I'm going to order some decent quality HT leads this time. I've been recommended Magnacor leads so I'll be ordering them.
 
They're expensive at £125 or so but they are supposed to be race quality and hopefully they'll last.

ahem! Seems I jumped the gun - got a new coilpack and it's not that this time.. It's done it so many times I just assumed.
 
This time it appears to be one of HT leads. A little nipple thing has broken off from inside the HT cap. So I'm sending 'a coilpack' back to them but they can't supply the leads. My mate is sorting them out as I type.
 Mine gets pretty hot especially with the weather we've been having. The day it went we had 30c in Leicester so I had assumed the heat had killed it.

Hi Pete. Yes new ones each time. I think my local garage fitted a cheap shit one before, so last time I bought Bosch, that was May this year. I've kept the receipt and should get a refund. The supplier says he'll send it back to Bosch for a diagnosis. With the two cars I reckon I've bought seven coilpacks in the last 7yrs. Weird one eh?

Thanks to the organisers. I really enjoyed my first OC event for 6 years and good to see some of the same faces. Shame I never got it on the rollers but a small misfire on the way down made me bottle it. Thanks to Pete for fixing the misfire (loose HT lead!). Roll on the next one!

New coilpacks fitted and the car is running sweet. Just going to get the tracking done later and we're ready for the rollers.
