hi what is the best stuff to use to clean my MAF. I used carb cleaner last time but was then told not to use it. doh also while i'm at it how do i clean the ISV, is there anything i should be carefull of cheers John

just been out to check the VR as its been sat in the same place since last thursday night coz of a alternator failure and some **** has had a go at my locks and coz he / she couldn't get in the car they have filled my locks with superglue and i cant get in the car now as my battery is indoors being charged up. Also noticed that my car is the only one out there with a puddle of water underneath the engine area as its been sunny here today so i'm a bit concerned about that. especially as i cant get in the car to pop the hood. Feel well gutted

can i just say a quick thank you to whoever sent me a alternator removal guide, my manifold will be out but if i do struggle i'l try the jacking up the engine as well just to be on the safe side. must admit i'm not looking forward to it though lol

i have this with my Vento as well, the carpet was dripping wet the other night, and i cant figure out where it would have come in -
i've been looking for guides online but no joy, and i even went shopping for a vr6 haynes book but they dont list one why is this?

I'm doing mine for the 1st time tomorrow, i'm new to VR engines aswell. Why does the alternator take so long to take off. do you have any tips or things i should be aware of before i start ? Cheers John

thats what my alternator looks like, my rocker gasket has been leaking for a while now but for some reason it recently stopped

I took a drive to Hatfield last night from Hitchin with is roughly about 15 miles from each other so as usual i used the A1, on the way i noticed that my head lights seemed to be a bit dim but carried on regardless. I turned off at Hatfield (tesco roundabout) and noticed my idle revs were up a little then it started raining. baring in mind i've already got my heaters on, stereo on with amped sub, lights on, and now my wipers. Then it happened everthing all of a sudden stopped stereo went crazy so i turned that off, wipers stopped all lights went off petrol guage went down to zero all heaters s

dont you have to replace the whole housing aswell when you do a thermostat
