Forgot to say, The maf sensor doesn't like induction kits in this weather Also check your plugs -

I had this 3 weeks ago Take out the air filter box and the maf sensor compeletly, Give your filter a clean Clean the maf sensor inside where the 3 very thin wire's are with carb cleaner and leave to dry. Put it all back together The idle will be a bit mad for a while and it will run a bit rich for about 15 mins and then it should be fine Hope this helps -

i dont know what it is called but it is effectively a relay that runs the radiator fan. If it clicking it meens it has water in it which isn't to good as this will stop the fan from working as it should. There is a simple fix you can do if you have access to a airline -

i didn't know all of that no. it was a surprise to say the least when it happened last night. I've been driving 15 years and had that experience before. but as you said was right most of the cars i have owned havn't had this on them. i went from a mk2 scirocco to the vr6 so you could say i'm not used to it yet lol. only had the car for 3 weeks lol But thank you RCF and the rest of you that have posted to help me. it is much appreciated Cheers John PS is there anymore surprises that i need to know lol
