  1. Rot free shell, stripped, seam welded and a full cage welded in place. You would have to make all changes prior to paint so everything would need mocking up first and all brackets/fixing points sorted. Sounds like an exciting project.
  2. While i'm saving for modifications to go FI, either charger or turbo. I keep changing my mind and will make a decision once i'm a little bit flusher with cash. I've made a start with suspension and alloys. The TT alloys give me more room for a brake upgrade and are a different offset which means no need for spacers. I think the rear needs another 5-10mm drop to get the stance right and then i'll get the alignment and camber set correctly. Exhaust is looking more likely to be a custom fabrication and I will be going low comp first with improved pistons and ARP bolts over the winter. I'm not rea
  3. Every day is a school day and i'm learning. So decat, exhaust and induction. Then go for a remap and get the post cat sensors switched off.
  4. On my 4 motion it is a 36mm socket. My local Halfords didn't go that large for either a normal socket or spanner but they did have them in the impact sockets sold as singles. Careful when you tighten up as the torque setting is really low.
  5. Looks like i've got my work cut out to try and get a de-cat and exhaust how I want it. Off the shelf isn't gonna do really.
  6. Thanks for putting up the pictures of your exhaust and I look forward to seeing those awesome brakes tucked in behind your new alloys.
  7. 4.5" gun on the front is mainly for gunnery support. We're not fitted with yet but will carry Phalanx. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prNhzbqlZ4Q Main weapon system will be Sea Viper. We have these aswell. And these.
  8. Wouldn't last long around us if they weren't
  9. At the last Santa pod that I went to all the mildly tuned N/A's were quicker but I wasn't "launching" off the start line. Like you say it is very close, but I think they start to shine when FI is fitted in whichever guise.
  10. Lucky i've just fitted a set of TT alloys that are et32 and 7.5j. Fill the arches nicely too. Cheers for the headsup Parky.
  11. With a little over 200bhp but a load more weight in the drivetrain, most VR's are quicker. They are, however a superb base to add more power and make full use of the 4wd.
  12. And we're designed to knock'em out of the sky, check out the euro fighter going verticle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewFRvczvOMo
  13. Could that be done with Vagcom?
  14. I'm looking to decat my 4mo and thought it would be worth buying a cat from the breakers, removing the insides and replacing my cat with the OEM pipe with it's guts removed. I understand the 4mo has 2 lamda's with the 2nd comparing with the 1st. As the 2 readings get closer then a fault alarm will be triggered. Is it possible to overcome this? If I blank the second boss and strap the 2nd sensor up out the way will this frig the sensor into believing it is in clean air and so negate the warning? Has anyone had a go at this and how do you get it all to work? Any help advice most welcome.
  15. I tried to e-mail but my laptop isn't playing the game.
  16. These won't fit under VAG 17" wheels though, will they?
  17. I've got a 4 motion that is currently running the 312mm front setup and i've 2 sets of vag 17" alloys. There looks to be some room for upgrading the disc/caliper setup and wondered what my options are. Is there an OEM next size up and what cars are they fitted to? Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Looks like I'll need to have a rummage round the breakers.
  18. A lot of car for little money, well done.
  19. Would be the business if they could do it for a 6 pot. I'd have one if they did.
