  1. Just a thought buddy, but it might be worth changing you ignition switch, as it might be that causing a problem rather then your alarm. Might not be, but it is a pretty easy and cheap thing to try, because from what l understand the immobilizer will still let it turn over and start but then would cut the engine after a few seconds?

  4. come to think of it dude, l think they are shorter then standard at full stretch, so l am not sure if they will help, but you are welcome to try them if you like?
  5. I cant remember the make off the top of my head buddy, but l will track them down when l get home tonight and send you a pm
  6. I will be fitting some at the start of next year buddy, but l have standard droplink on so hoping it will be fine :/ I have a set of adjustable droplinks if you want to try them buddy, I got then a while ago when l changed my shocks but didnt need them in the end. You are welcome to them for the price of postage?
  7. Bloody hell buddy! well hopefully you manage to give them a kicking, legally speaking.
  8. I have FK's on mine buddy and am pretty happy with them, they handle well and as yet l havent had any problems with them. although if you can l would go for AP over FK.
  9. Hi Mate Tony is base in Essex, Gravesend or something like that? If you have a search for his profile he has a contact number on there, mobile mechanic so he will come to you. jim potter is also out that way, but l think he is mainly parts based
  10. It sounds to me like it is most likely your coil buddy, l know you have checked it and it looks ok/ has no signs or cracking ect.. but l had the same sort of thing happen to me not long ago, coil looked fine but it felt similar to when l had a coil pack go before. so l got some liquid electrical tape stuff (come in rattle can or paint on) from Plastidip (like £15 a can) took the coil pack apart gave it a few coats and it seem to have sorted it. Might be worth a try? But just my 2 cents
  11. This is MOT tester speak for "You need new top mounts mate" And is a very grey area on Golf top mounts' date=' as they are designed to work with the weight of the car on them, so guess what happens when tested while being jacked up? [/quote'] Cheers buddy, i will get some new ones fitted and if it comes up again l will have to try and explain that, that is how they are meant to be and hope for the best Thanks for the replies everyone l didnt realise this was such a common thing with golf MOT testing
  12. Would that affect the travel? l don't think they have gone, haven't heard any knocking or anything coming from them :/
  13. Hi All, ok so l just got my car back from MOT with no major problems, the thing it failed on was there is too much travel in the strut tops? Quote; Nearside front Macpherson strut has excessive movement at the upper attachment [2.5.A.1c] The way he explained it to me is that he had to jack it up for ages till the wheel lifted, now l havent noticed this before and l figure it is just the standard travel that the coilovers have? However how would l reduce the travel they have or do you think it could be a problem? as l would like to get the MOT sorted lol Many Thanks in advance
  14. Nope mine is still showing up as Orange T-Mobile. l did get an email saying that l could switch to EE and get better signal ect.. but l would have to re-contract, so think l will just wait till my contract is done or they just move me lol
  15. Hi buddy, I am sure l have heard of people doing ABS deletes, however when it comes to MOT l would guess as it is from factory standard safety thing it would probably fail if it wasn’t there. But l am sure someone with a bit more knowledge on the matter will be along shortly
  16. Just a little feed back. Unfortunately they were not able to better my best quote this year. They beat the renewal premium by £25 (£700 - £675) but the excess went up from £200 on my best quote (or £100 through my current insurer) to £550 through Prestige which seemed a little extreme I will however ring them again next year and see what they can do
  17. Phoned up for a quote last night and l am waiting for a call back from the Underwriters as the on screen price were £1000+ which is significantly more then the £700 l have been quoted elsewhere. So will see what they can do when they call back
  18. Android Only M8 I have this Running on a Samsung Galaxy Note + Elm 327 Bluetooth' date=' but Have,nt tried it with a VAG vehicle yet. Stephen https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque&hl=en [/quote'] torque-bhp is a brilliant little app! running it on my S3 and works great. The guy who made it is still working on the VW group proprietary protocol as they are different so it doesn’t pick up all fault codes at the moment, but it picks up most stuff and once he finishes the VW stuff it should be awesome plus its got that other handy stuff like 0-60, 1/4 mile ect.. Get
  19. I use Opera and/or chrome on the S3 and it seems to work fine, well the few times l have used it lol
  20. beach buggin is a pretty good show from what l hear from my air cooled mates
