  1. Will do once the fuel rail is correctly back on.
  2. They are out but in the deep dark shed. I'll check tomorrow and will post the results tomorrow around 6.30am.
  3. Hey Tony, the wiring for the rail, its yellow left and blue right?
  4. Not helpful I know but that's it. Also she was a dog to start and sounds like a tank. I've taken the fuel rail and injectors, and bought some silicone grease to re-seat them.
  5. There was no fuel leak, that I could see but could smell fuel.
  6. Hey Tony, I did what you had mentioned, Turned the engine over a few times without the loom plugged in and then attached it and she runs lumpy and rough. Even after 5/10 minutes she is no better, so the calibration element should have taken effect.
  7. I am wondering is the issue because the injectors are not seated correctly? I am sure they should be popped in, into the lower inlet manifold. When I took the rail off again they all just fell out of the holes.
  8. I checked on Ross Tech wiki and theres nothing on the fault codes for the injectors. I got that info by the power of Google. I cleared the codes and they came back.
  9. I took the leap of faith and hit a brick wall. I check VAG.COM and got the below error codes, can anyone spread some light as I am desperate to get the VR to Billings this weekend. The ECU has been mapped by United Motorsport for the 30lb Injectors with the V3 Vortech Kit. Chassis Type: 1H - VW G/J/V Mk3 Scan: 01,02,03,08,15,25,56 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Address 01: Engine Controller: 021 906 256 Component: SC 8030 UM.6.11 HS V02 Coding: 00000 Shop #: WSC 01317 11 Faults Found: 00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30 07-10 - Si
  10. Well time for an update the next few days sees the so so final build before Billing. ECU is out and off to United Motorsport, if you read this craig sorry mate about the RRFPR. Schrick is off and provisionally sold, I am a little gutted but I need the money for the bottom end. Front end is off the VR to fit the charger. And I only got back from the USA this morning so I am jet lagged lol. The plan is for the car to be charged on Saturday and running as this is my daily driver at the moment.
  11. A few more pics of the work going on a few weeks back 312mm conversion Rear beam bushes - Thanks Paul Refitting the exhaust - Thanks Matt, dirt bag lol
  12. Jim I cannot mate, I don't have the compression kit, Tony tested them for me.
  13. Gauge holder arrived and really deflated as it looks crap. Need to look at a piller mount job. More updates to follow. Its been a long haul almost finished.
  14. These are my current compression results cylinder 1 - 190 psi cylinder 2 - 150 psi cylinder 3 - 180 psi cylinder 4 - 170 psi cylinder 5 - 130 psi cylinder 6 - 190 psi I noticed that cylinder 5 is low and cyclinder 2 is not far behind. Is this a worry for now?
  15. Thanks Bungy, I will for sure be listening and learning.
  16. I checked a Peter Russek Manual on VR6's and its says the below Compression pressure (new) - 11 - 13 kg/sq.cm Min. permissible pressure (wear limit) - 7.5 kg/sq.cm
  17. That makes me feel so much better Paul lol. This is going to be an expensive learning curve. I hope the bloody engine does not go bang once finished.
  18. No I don't have that sort of money. I am just going to get the bottom end rebuilt as standard use arp head studs possibly head spacer, metal layer head gasket and recon head with the valves lapped in.
  19. I plan to keep the VR for many many years as its become another child in my household to the annoyance of my wife. I need to look at the cost of balancing really, money always leads to a decision. Just contacted TPS ouch parts are expensive. Big end upper shell Big end lower shell Piston rings Thrust washers
  20. At last correct AEM AFR has arrived. Just waiting on the gauge holder then its go time.
  21. Nah the charger will go on the current block and I am going to rebuild Paul's old block over time, first part is the bottom end and then the head.
  22. This is the spare one. I bought Harry's old engine from Paul.
