  1. There is (on the sony loom) a yellow and red lead, which can be swapped or joined, can't remember off the top of me head, but have a play til it holds memory, and switches on an off with the key! :-)
  2. Why worry then? If it does everything else, and works fine then i'd leave it. My alarm doesn't 'beep', which is good when you arrive home in the early hours sometimes. ;-)
  3. Hell yeah, i'd be up for some of that! :-)
  4. Yeah see what you mean mate, can't think it'll be a problem, as its between 2 water ways. But that head is pretty minging! Needs a good ol' clean! :-)
  5. Blimey, wonder what the other tensioner looks like? I think the cams thing is normal, its the 'highest' part of the lobe, and where the most force is to push the follower/valve down. As long as there's no scoring on the lobes and followers then they'll be fine fella.

    MOT

Congrats fella, its always good to fly through the mot! Think of the money you've saved, and can now spend on mods!! ;-)
  7. Fitted my push button start switch, because my ignition switch cut the power to the igntion after the switch was in 'start', its been getting on my nerves for AGES! Also bought another wastegate, and tube, so that will hopefully eliminate my boost creep and spikes. :-) I can't bloody wait! I'l have my full, if not more, rev range back!!! :-) :-)
  8. Hello and welcome! There's a few of us on here who have turbo's, have a read of kev thread http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?139931. We've all managed to fit everything in, even with the servo and master cylinder there. Got any pics? :-)

    mk2 convert

I thought you could use a mk3 pedal box too? But you definately need a rado cross member.

    mk2 convert

Hello fella, welcome to the club! It should all just bolt up, if you use the mk3 wiring loom, fuse box etc it will make life easy! Post some pics up!
  11. If you do it, it'll need some serious strengthening to compensate for the lack of rear pillars! But, sounds interesting, why not have a go? :-)
  12. That design of brace will work fine. I think you can get 1's that clamp over the strut tops, inside the car, but not sure if they will fit (they're for a mk1 golf). http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLKSWAGON-GOLF-REAR-UPPER-STRUT-TOP-BRACE-MK1-GTI-/120523786722?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c0fc709e2 Just put the brace in, mark the wholes, drill, and bolt up, simples! :-)
  13. No, shouldn't have to, it will pee out a bit of oil when you remove it, but nothing too serious. Try doing it after its been sat for a night to save loosing too much oil.

  15. I love it, nice 1 Jim! We all love our turbo's.... :-)
  16. I've wrapped my 3" downpipe and it helps soooo much. I don't know if you've touched hot stainless pipe before? It bloody hurts! But its because it gives off a different sort of heat to normal steel, are retains heat very well too. Ask aaronmk2 what happened to his brake servo pipe on the last rr day! Defo wrap it mate! :-)
  17. Thats abit different!

    strip the vr?

Why could you fail the mot if you strio your car out? Mine went through, no probs, and i've got a battery and fuel tank in the back. As long as you completely remove the rear seat belts and buckles etc you shouldn't have a problem.
  19. Looked really tidy mate, but women are never happy, are they? Thought the stance was perfect!
  20. Not yet, i just got 1 from the scrappy, which worked once when i'd plugged it in, then went back to not unlocking. I would swap with the 1 in my vr but the air fitting is a push on, rather then the clip on fittings.
  21. Well, turbo's and chargers have been mentioned but i got told to 'f-off, your not doing that to my car, i like it the way it is'. I'm sure she could be persuaded, over time... :-)
  22. But when you sit in the car, with the doors locked, and try to pull the door pin up, it gets pulled back down-like its fighting me!
  23. Glad to see you've returned back to vr ownership, tidy car, any ideas what wheels your going to putting on it?
  24. Katie's very happy with it, thanks peeps. She loves the noise, beats her old Astra hands down! :-)
  25. I've bought my girl friend an early birthday present, a 1996 3 door mulberry highline, called Harry! But I've got him now, and he has been 'rednecked'! Big thanks to Jake for helping us out today with the first split hose!!!! LEGEND! :-) It needs the central locking sorting out, please help if you can! http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?369101.post
